New Charge pipe option

I am working with a custom fabricator that is ready to make couplers for our charge pipes. This coupler essentially would sit in between two silicone boots and allow for us to use the stock diverters on its built in flange.

I wanted to see if there are others who may want to get a set.

This is a good upgrade in my opinion, future proofs the charge pipe section which is a two piece plastic piece which can crack under high boost.

There would also be some minor benefits in airflow as the charge pipe seems to be 2.2" while the OD of the intercoolers appear to be a little shy of 2.8"

Preliminary, elementary drawing I did

Why not just weld on a diverter adapter/spacer to the desire 45degree pipe. I was about to do this because installing the stock dual pipe back to the intercooler just makes me go mad 😡.
It will look like the S63 M5’s.

I guess that can be done also but I want it to look somewhat decent as it'll be milled from scratch.

Got a stock charge pipe off ebay for the vendor to use to take more accurate measurements.

🤞🏽

The coupler will have a bead at each edge so it prevents any chance of pop-off of the hoses.

You want 2x 2.25 ID, and 2x 2-3/8".

The 2.25" (turbo side) is 1.915" in length

The charge pipe to intercooler side is 1.784" in length

The hateful thing is that the two pipes do not have OE parts, and it is very fragile, and many head maintenance work requires frequent disassembly of the charge pipes

Alright guys, the vendor sent me a few pics...it's coming along.

What you see in this picture below is the OEM charge pipe in gray, the orange will be what the vendor will be making.
