He was stating that to run the power of the MS3 you'd be better off with awd. It would appear you agree since you have had two MS6's.

Having driven both cars and owned a GTI (and two non Mazdaspeed 3's, the GTI is both more fun and more functional. The MS3 is not a good car.

Amusingly, my GTI is making similar power to a stock MS3 and still does not have anywhere near the appalling torque steer, the seemingly solid suspension or the comical heft, or the drunken front differential. Just a better car.

Honda seems to have proven that you can make 300 plus hp with no torque steer, but they essentially stole the old fwd Focus RS Revo Knuckle, which is much fancier than what VW or Mazda have ever used.

So VW was great enough to neuter the car.
It was never about power and torque numbers. My MKII had all of 137hp and it was still more fun to drive than my 250hp tuned B5 A4.

5. 2008 Infiniti G37S Coupe 6MT - Fun to drive with a little refinement.
4. 2018 BMW M550i - Have only had it a few months but loving it. Comfy for the 95% I want it, quick for those other times. 155mph never felt so easy.
3. 1986 BMW 325es red manual - first car I owned and a blast to drive. Only lasted under a year before I totaled it.
2. 1990 300zx 2+2 pearl white manual - had turbo envy but a blast to own. My old man bought it from me 20 years ago and still owns it. Makes me want to buy it back thinking about it.
1. 1975 Cadillac Sedan DeVille - High school party wagon. 500ci boat but good times and maxed out at 13 passengers.

I think the guy just likes to talk shit... the ms3 is the worst car I've ever owned and if you've driven one; you know why... VW thought things thru better; thats even before you get into the interior material quality etc...

You can very easily say the same thing about anything Haldex. Part of me wants to say any awd setup, but that's a more personal thing than reality.

Technically they’re not all mine
Gave my 135i to my daughter when she got her license last year.
Gave my 335is to my son , but took it back and gave him the M2.
X6M and CLK63 is my wife’s.
991 and GT4 are my weekend car.
MK7.5 GTI and 335is are my DD. 2 DD because GTI is DSG and 335is is 6MT.
As my wife says, cars are better than mistresses.

1. '99 Acura 1.6EL (made just for the Canadian market, I insisted on telling my buddies it was not a dressed up Civic Si). It was my first car with heated leather seats, a sunroof, and a smooth 5-speed manual which never got old. It also caused me to develop a heavy right foot, and a penchant for despising people who hog lanes.

2. '04 Acura TL. A total impulse buy, but it felt like twice the car the EL was, and hands down, had one of the best audio systems of its time (and I'd argue, still superior sound compared to the HK system in the F30, but I guess that's subjective).

3. '06 MX-5. Another impulse buy. I was craving a manual transmission in the TL, and always told myself that I was a sports sedan kinda guy. But the test drive in this car had me giggling all the way through. The Mazdaspeed exhaust had a wonderful snarl; the car was so nimble; I did several subtle mods enough to make it truly "just mine"... then sold it because I thought it was being underused. Still miss it..

4. 2000 Mazda Protιgι. Yes, it wasn't glamourous. Yes, the a/c broke when I needed it in summer on a road trip. Yes, the fuel pump was installed improperly by the previous owner, giving everyone in the car a slight gasoline high. But dammit, this car was an awesome winter beater, which was always reliable even though the mileage was up there, ready to go despite the temperature. And if you've not driven around in the middle of winter with a working manual tranny, drifting and doing donuts, you should!

5. '14 F30: current car. The mix of tech and sport.. very nice (yes, it's old at this point, but I'm still enjoying what I have). That it can simultaneously make you smile because of the rush (speeding), and nervous because you're concerned what you're doing could be the end of... what you're doing (speeding to the point of having your car impounded) is still something I'm trying to balance. Yes, an F80 or an F10 would be faster. But as I was saying to one of the guys at our meetup earlier this week, we don't have roads here to use all the power the car has. So I'm adding "trip to Germany" to next year's travel plans.

Ranked by how much I I had at the time:
1) 1997 Lotus Elise Mk1(new)
2) 2004 VW R32 (new)
3) 2014 Porsche Carrera 4S (CPO)
4) 1993 Mazda RX7 TT (new)
5) 2013 Audi A8 (CPO)

I like the 911, but loved the Elise and R32.

No particular order:
1. 2012.5 991 C2S- Best car I've ever owned and the longest I've ever had a car (4.5yrs and counting). There's newer and faster out there and I'm in the car business so I drive them all, but I don't see myself ever getting rid of this one.
2. 2006 Range Rover HSE Lux- My first car (I know, spoiled). This thing was a tank. I walked away from a very serious accident in it and it was good as new after it was fixed. So many good memories in this car.
3. 2007 E90 335i- Sold the Range Rover for this, put 30k on it in 18 months. My first entrance in to a "performance" car and I had a lot of fun tuning and modifying it.
4. 2006 MB SLK55- I traded the E90 for this before my move from FL to Los Angeles. The noise this car made was epic, and I always had a smile on my face behind the wheel. My dealership recently got one of these in and if I hadn't been about to buy a house I would have picked it up. Definitely plan on getting another one of these one day, they can be had on the cheap now.
5. 1978 Corvette- As someone else said, it's not the best driving car in the world. However my Dad got this one new at 18 years old. My parents are high school sweethearts and picked it up together. This is the car that made me fall in love with cars. My father couldn't afford to keep the car up, so it wasn't driven from 94-04. It sat in the garage disabled when I was a young kid and my sister and I used to sit in it and pretend we were driving it to everywhere we dreamed of going. It sat until he started making money and then he did a full restoration on it. We keep it stored and drive it on nice days, but it basically a family heirloom.

I always had a thing for the slk55, but it's the lack of the manual or a decently responsive paddle shifting auto that has dissuaded me.
The original slk is a classic beauty though (especially in iridium silver) and the sound and torque of that thing are inspiring...they don't make em like that anymore

Who cares if his dad currently owns it. My dad will probably give me the 1952 Bentley R type continental he has at some point. I can probably claim it as my car..

Probably best if you have only had 5 cars not to just list them.
