How do you remove a non-adaptive D1S bulb ? different than adaptive no retaining clip

Went to replace the passenger right bulb that is out on 35i with non-adaptive headlight. All the youtube videos are for adaptive. Mine does not have the wire retaining clip and I cannot figure out how to get the darn thing out.

It does not pull out. I twisted it to clockwise and counterclockwise, not really hard but it does not feel like it is going to budge.

I checked www.newtis.info and searched Youtube and the forums but all the pictures are of an adaptive bulb.

I know this has to be easy. I am just missing something.

Please remember to give your model & model year (and possibly build date due to the mid production changes) so that if we need to look up information to share with you...we don't have to guess...or spend time looking up the incorrect information because of slight changes that occur during the production run. Are you pre LCI or LCI?

If you have #8 in the diagram below...it twists on/off (I used a 2009 35i to look up the diagram). You need to twist the "igniter" in a counter-clockwise motion to release it. Click link below for instructions from TIS website on how to remove ignition unit to remove xenon bulb:

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...dlight/OoGYZNk

Press in retaining bracket (1) for releasing retaining lug (2) in direction of arrow.
Disconnect plug (3) in downward direction from ignition unit for xenon headlight (4).
Turn ignition unit for xenon headlight (4) in direction of arrow and remove from headlight (5).

Thanks for the info...yes, it is a post LCI. See my edited reply above. If you need to enlarge the pic from the TIS website...just click the link and scroll down to the image...then click on it and it will explode into a larger view.

Many thanks for this info . Yes , it's the only example of LCI 2013 I could find on the web too . Somewhat of a pain to get it back in the optic ( outside righthand bulb )and a 180 degree turn , but for USD45 for an original OEM value Osram D1S Xenarc from Germany , I won't pay hundreds for the Dealer to do it . I bought two ( one for spare ) , but since the colour is now slightly different , maybe the left is on it's way out soon ?
