E70 X5M Brake rotor options in 2022

I'm due for a brake job and looking for rotor and pad options. It seems at least a few years ago the go to was OEM e70 or f85 rotors and power stop z23 pads.

I see fcp euro has Zimmerman rotors for about half the cost of the oem options. But I haven't seen any mention/reviews of them. They are a little heavier, which doesn't bother me. Never had issues with Zimmerman rotors on other cars. Any reason not to go with these?

It's a good brand, I can't see anything wrong with it.

Rockauto has Centric "125" blanks for $160 each front, $145 each rear plus shipping.

I believe the 125 series are just blank Stoptechs, but dont remember where I read that. I would link but their site is kind of pain for sharing products.

Centric has a few different tiers of rotors. I usually only buy the Premiums that have the painted center hat, but also claimed better metallurgy over whatever base model is below that.

Centric also owns Stoptech and a couple of other brands for rotors. There are only so many metal forges in the world that can product castings at their volume.

While they would never admit it, it very well could be stoptech is = to at least centric premiums when it comes to OE quality rotors. It's all in the finishing anyways... paint, no paint, drilled, slotted, etc.. All from only a couple types of blanks.

If centric has a compatible set, you can't go wrong with them. I've been a centric customer for more than a decade on multiple cars. (premiums or better)

My E70 used this brand and works great. Nothing to complain so far. Will buy this again within 2 years when it is due for replacement again. For me, it will last about 60k miles.

thanks for the feedback everyone.

I ended up going with the Zimmerman Formula F rotors. They are the same '2 piece' style as OEM with aluminum hats. Ordered on eBay from user partscontainer which is eEuroparts and came to $761+tax.
Zimmerman model #s for anyone interested
FL: 150.2947.32
FR: 150.2948.32
Rears: 150.2945.32

Other options were the other Zimmerman 1 pc style which were around $680+tax for a set. And the mentioned Centric 125s which were $590+tax from RockAuto. I found OEM rotors for around $1300+tax for comparison.

I purchased the power stop pads. I haven't gotten around to installing them yet though.
