Howzit!

It looks like I actually have tracking of my harness from Latvia for the leds. Now I want to deal with the FRM. If I'm understanding your posts correctly you actually did not need a new one? You were able to get your existing one coded to work, is that right?

The updated instructions indicated that I could use my existing FRM, but it wouldn't code, so I ended up using the new FRM anyway. Only after that was I able to code the vehicle and have everything work 100%.

Ok, cool. Thanks for clarifying. One final question now. Does the new FRM need to be coded to the vehicle first and then coded for the leds? Or is that all done at the same time through autologic? Reason I ask is because I have a warranty visit with the dealer next week so if the FRM needs to be coded to the car first I would have the dealer code it for the car since I'm there anyways.

I heard u only need the wire harness if ur car it's not running LEDs lights ?????

BMW updated the entire vehicle and all the modules while I had the old FRM in. They WOULD NOT code the LED headlights because BMW North America says that this retrofit is Europe only.... After BMW, I went to an Indy BMW repair shop and they were able to code it through Autologic. We tried using the original FRM, but it would show a fault each time. As a last resort (remember the updated instructions indicates that you can use the original FRM), I plugged the new FRM. Autologic recognized it right away and was able to complete the coding properly within minutes.

On another note...
(modding continues):
I replaced my yellowed and nasty engine cover with a brand new one. It seems that the recently installed downpipes creates far less engine bay heat than before. The temperatures are more like a normal vehicle rather than a raging fire pit, so I'm hoping that this new cover will last longer as well as other heat sensitive parts under the hood.

Sounds good, thanks for the update. I'll definitely be ordering a new FRM then. Better safe than sorry. Wire harness is supposedly in New York now so this led headlight project might be happening quicker than anticipated.

Nice job on the continued mods. I have a new engine cover waiting to go on after downpipe installation myself. Now just vinyl wrap the lower center indentation of the bumper gloss black and you will be all set. Also don't let the Joneses get to you as you are ahead of them with your headlights and downpipes...

The headlights and modules came as complete units from Import Source in Anderson, SC. The FRM3 module came from my local BMW parts department and the retrofit wiring harness came from Latvia.

Bimmerfest East is happening next week in New Jersey and we're planning to make the trip. Hopefully there will be some good photo opportunities there and along the way. There will also be competition events going on at the show so, if my new tune arrives in time....

About the LCI taillights...
I guess its the only thing that gives it away that mine is a 2010.
I actually prefer the Cellis taillights myself, but I may have to give in to peer pressure once again...
