Winter Tire Size for E71 X6 35i

Hi All,

In the past, I have been using a set of 19" winter tire set, however, they were running out of thread and I have sold them. Thus, I am looking to get a set of new winter tires. My question is, is the smallest tire size 19" for the X6 or would it be 18"? I have been looking at certain local tire shops and they do offer 18" tires however, curious to see if anyone has been using 18" for their winters. TIA!

If you don’t have the big brembo brakes like the M you should be able to go 18. I know for M you have to go 19 as the smallest rim size

I’m running parallel 20inch from an x5 (275/4020)..with 15mm spacers on the rear with hub centric rings... They work well on some bad road conditions...vehicle is a 2013 X6M.

The owners manual for the 2012 X5/X6 only lists 19", 20", 21" tire sizes for the X6 35i...where as the comparable X5 35i does have 18" tire sizes listed with a M+S (mud+snow) recommendation.

It would be illuminating if someone with an X6 that has successfully mounted 18" wheels/tires...would chime in to educate us all.

Speaking to several tire shops in Toronto, they do offer 18" option for the x6 35i with tire size 255/55/18. Thus, thats the option i ended up going with (havent installed yet though but looking forward to it). Overall, wanted to really size down rather than sticking to factory tire size for the winter weather in Toronto.

Thanks folks!

Thanks for the follow up...now we know that 18" tires are an option for the X6.

would 18s work on the x6 hybrid as well? I dont know if they are brembo brakes but the front rotors looks huge.
