New to bimmer world, help advise
Hello fellow bimmer owners,
I recently sold my cls350 And I'm thinking o the BMW x6m 2011. I read a lot of reviews on many sites, and they really do thrash the car except for the speed part. This is not my issue, please enlighten me on the following l: How reliable is the car, service-wise? Is the maintainance costly? How soon is the x6m will get a facelift? Since I'm getting the last x6m from the dealership and they sweetened up the deal for me because the 2012 BMW x6m is going to arrive in a month or so. Is there a difference between the 2011 and the 2012 model ? I'm 70 -30 on the go of going and getting the x6m but many of my friends claim that the car is girly even though you're pimping it with the M logo. The x6m I saw is carbon. Black on with a tan interior, amaaazing, I loved but I don't want to get something that I end up regretting after a year that gets a facelift or so. |

I just bought a 2012 x6m 2 weeks ago and I have owned a lambroghini gallardo and mercedes s600. The X6m was the best car I have owned. I also thought that x6m looked like a girly car, but wait till u drive it, it is truly a monter. It's very luxurious and fast as hell. Lambroghini gave me back ache and I'm only 28 years old. Mine is black on black. I wanted red with orange interior but didn't want to wait 8-12 weeks. Good luck

Thanks a lot buddy for your reply
How about the difference between 2011 and 2012 model? And is the maintainance costly? what for the facelift part? Websites claim there are minor changes on the x6 comin 2012 with the led lights and rear lights, does your x6m come with those special features |

The only change for 2012 was the option of middle seat in the rear. So 3 people can sit, instead of 2. I believe a minor facelift is coming 2013. In USA these are maintenance free because BMW covers all maintenance for 50,000 miles and besides oil change is due every 15,000 miles.

Problem I'm facing right. Ow is that I'm carless so I need something very soon. The guy at the dealership claims 2014 will be the facelift so I'm safe for the time being, don't know if he's that credible, cuz he is trying to get rid of the 2011 model he has before the 2012 models arrive.
What do u guys think? |

As per sticky
http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=484972 There are very few minor changes for 2012 BMW apps and rear bench to seat 3 people Depending how important these options to you are and how soon you need the car Based on current timeframes in your area, looks like 2013 model (facelift) will be there in a year or so from now? |

Thanks a lot for the feedback everyone!
Quick questions, is it possible to insta the led lights front back If I wanted to? In order to imitate the newer version. And sadly the dealership where I'm from (Kuwait) do not take care of the M power vehicles for 50k's or nothing. None of u guys had some bad encounters with ur x6ms so far?!? Mean mechanical wise! |

Swapping head/tail- lights for new LED lights should be an easy task
As long as they keep body peices unchanged It may require some coding to support new hardware, but i dont think it's terrible Reliability wise, i think it's a solid car I havent heard people having any major issues with X6 Ms, especially newer models P.S. When new full LED lights come out i will most likely try to get them swapped I really like them |

Hood, fenders, and rear hatch should remain unchanged, based on the leaked pictures
So this would make lights to be retrofitable There could be small changes in front/rear bumper Other than that i dont think it's a major facelift |
