2009 X6 Fix Screen Vinegar Syndrome, Replace Polarizing Film

I bought an older X6 with a screen that was almost impossible to see because someone used cleaner and destroyed the antiglare. I took it apart, thinking it'd be a simple matter of removing the polarizing film, cleaning the LCD glue, and reapplying a new film. I just got it in the mail, but every angle I try doesn't seem right.

Do any of you know if there's a special type of polarization on these screens? I haven't found any other posts showing a successful restoration of a screen. Just a lot of speculation.

Could these screens be circularly polarized? Is there a different kind of film I need for a color LCD?
