Educate me please!

Okay... I've seen four X5's today with the aggressive wide back tires. How do I do that??? I want it!!!! Can I do it on my 2007 4.8i??? If so, what do I tell a tire/wheel shop what I want? Thanks!

First, you need the OEM BMW fender flares. Then you need basically what I have stock. BMW 214's which are 20x 11 rear and 20x9.5 front wheels with 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20

I do think it is possible, however you need at least a 20" wheel. Do you have 19's? This is a 4.8, however it has the M package. I think the painted trip adds a little meanness, however with that said you can still achieve it. the body is still the same.

Not sure what you mean by "need fender flares"? Mine is stock and there are no issues.

These fit too:

20 x 8.5 up front and 20 x 10 on the rear. Conti Extreme Contact DSW's 275/40R20 and 315/35R20...non-RFT.

This looks nice. I currently have 19" wheels but will upgrade if that's what it takes. Don't want to go bigger than 20 though.

Anyone have any idea how much this will all cost?

Can I add the fender flares???

Here's the real question.... is it worth getting the fender flares and 20" wheels/tires now (time, hassle, money, etc) or should I just wait 5 years for my next X5?

I mean.... if it cost around 3k fine but more like 6k... then I'd probably pass. no way I could get husband on board with it especially since he totaled his 335xi a couple weeks ago and now we'll be paying for a A4 that he wants. Thoughts???

Never mind... I think I've answered my own question. Don't think it's in the cards for me on this X5 but will be for sure on my next one.

Thanks everyone.

Miss- Can you post a good pic of the rear of your X5 and a rear pic along with a pic of the rear quarter panel and rear end? I do not think there are rear flare extensions, but I want to double check. I think all X5's, except possibly the X5M have the same rear, however the tire does make it look flared out.

You can get the extensions for the fenders from Tischer BMW for a good price. As far as the wheels and tires, I've seen good prices on Reps. I personally would suggest the OEM ones. I think there was someone on here selling a brand new set off his X5, and he lives in So cal.

What did I tell you ? I had the same problems with my E92. It is a TOTAL pain in the ass and not worth it.

Here a link to pictures. I definitely don't have the flare and I have stock 19" tires with MRR wheels I bought (and now hate). ho hum.

http://img198.imageshack.us/slidesho...d=photo5ya.jpg

Kloogys care definitely has the flared fenders and I think he said he didn't spring for the M class or even M sport package.
