Looking for information on X5M auxiliary water pump
I have a 2013 X5M that has a slight coolant leak on the passenger side. It looks like the auxiliary water pump is leaking at the connection at the top. BTW, this is not the pump that cools the turbos after the engine is shut down.
Wondering if anyone has any experience working on this pump. I will need to replace the hose, which I assume connects to the small coolant tank on the passenger side (hard to tell where the top of the hose connects to on RealOEM). It's buried in the engine, and think that the best way to access is through the passenger wheel well. Wanted to check with the board before digging into the repair. Thanks. |

Most of the time it is the coolant temp sensor that located on the radiator hose that is right over that aux pump. Its the o-ring that goes bad. Check that first, might save you time and money.

Thanks for the suggestion. Are you referring to part#21?

Does anyone have a picture of the engine bay with the aux water pump location? I have the A6D1 auxiliary-water pump fault code and it's telling me I need to replace the pump, but I am not sure of it's location and if it's the sensor o-ring, or I should just locate the pump and replace it.

On the S63 engine, there are two auxiliary water pumps. You can check realoem.com for your specific VIN, although they should be identical.
