Any affordable exhausts for the n55? (other than Megan)

Hey all, I wanted to get the megan racing rear silencer for my xdrive35i, but it's been backordered for months with no eta.

I'm aware of the bmw performance exhaust at around the $1,000 mark, then a couple of other options from supersprint and others for several thousand each.

Is there anything out there in the sub-1k range that sounds similar to the megan unit?

I haven't managed to turn up anyhhing. Thanks!

Keep in mind, it's an axle back, that many cheap muffler shops can do. But a good fabricator could also mimic a design from whatever picture you have. Price wise, would be in the middle of what you've listed.

Vibrant is a very common supplier for many performance shops and fabricators. You can get an idea of mufflers and tips there. But also buy tips from most major manufacturers too if there is something else you like in particular.

Depending on where you live, I could recommend a shop or two for you too

Go custom. Using a few quality parts and finding a shop that knows what they are doing and it wouldn’t be all that different than the setups you listed. Slightly Lower price point too.

I’m replacing my muffler with 2 vibrant resonators and quad tips (still picking these out). I found an exhaust shop near by that will do all the fabrication using 304 SS tubing. Total cost will be under $800

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Fair to assume that if I can find other n55 sound clips with vibrant mufflers, this'll be pretty close? Don't want anything too loud or with much drone.

That’s what I’m hoping. There’s a popular shop in IL called Fluid Motor Union, who have a few pics of their custom exhaust using vibrant resonators on a N55 X6 and they told me it sounded great.

On a lot of the other cars with this engine, the exhaust included resonators from the factory on the midpipe. Our cars do not have that so I figured worse case, you might have to add a resonator on the midpipe to clean up any left over drone, if there is any.
