New (to me) X6 35D
Just picked up an X6 35D, some rough (iphone) pics and others attached.
Completely stock, with some nice options specced when new, replaces my 123d coupe. Suprisingly quick for a big ol bus though its deceptive compared to the 1-series. |

I'm not sold on the wheels yet but suspect they'll be easy to clean .

Well the x6 is a big bus but its handling/grip in the dry is quiet outstanding and I've not really pushed too hard. I'm finding stuff where the 123d would understeer (was running 225/40x18 front and 235/40x18 Sessantas with strut pin pulled) the X6 just grips (as it should on 275 fr and 315 r) . its not as nimble due to wieght diff but I would often run out of suspension travel on the 1 (M-sport suspension) that would also reveal a bit of poor damping control. The extra travel/wieght the 6 has just hammers the bumps flat.
I suspect once I get the launch right the X6 will also better the 123 for 0-60 (best I got on dynolycious for the 1 was 6.5). Not that I drag start often. Will I miss the potential oversteer (when wet it the 123 was easy provoked) I doubt it as without an LSD the 1 wasnt the best drifter. Interior is similar to the 1 but better imho , though that could just be the change from alutrim and black basic leather to bamboo and nevada beige leather making the 1 look like a M-way hack and the X6 like a limo. Overall the biggest thing to get used to I think is the width as the 1 is quite narrow by todays standards. |

hey Macca, snap mate
I got mine on 18 March 2011 Im loving it to pieces, and even the same colour as yours, the Vermilion Red and the same 35d I must say, you really dont feel like you are driving an SAV, more like a very sporty large sedan, the road holding is great and the drive is great, and its no slouch either I went from an E90 335i to this X6 due to another child being brought into the family Here is a list of the specs Exclusive package Innovation package Heads up display Steptronic with paddleshift PDC front and rear with reverse camera Satnav DVD player Xenon headlights with highbeam assist and AFS Full leather obviously lol (Saddle brown i think) Full electric seats Auto open and close bootlid (great party trick) Folding mirrors Ive attached a pic or 2 for you, also just from my blackberry so sorry bout the quality

Nice Motor Scouse.. Wierd but I also picked mine up on the same day as you..
I need to wash mine as its covered in dust. Also been looking for some alternate wheels as I'm not a big fan of the 259s (I think thats what they are) as they seem a bit of a clunky offroad styled rim for such a sleek beastie. |

Rims
Nice! Just picked up a set of BMW 239 rims 21" beasties with staggered 10" fr 11.5" r widths. Just waiting on alloy shims for the rear hub and need to sort a suitable set of boots (Dunlop sportmax seem to be the only ones in oem rear size) . Might get them painted as currently they're bright silver and I have a fancy for ferric grey/anthracite .

Rims n tyres fitted. (at last!) due to a shortage (non existant and price) of 285/35 tyres I've ended up with 295/35 rubber on the front (yoko's as they are competively for 21" priced ) and 325/30 sportmax (on a good discount thankfully as rrp was silly)
They are fresh on and still have the tyre soap all over the rim so need a good clean but look (IMHO) far better than the orignal 20"s |

Those wheels are quite stylin'. I like the 227Ms that look similar to those, but they're 20". I thought they'd look funny on an X6 for some reason. I guess I was wrong!
