Ive asked the dealer and they say it can not be upgrade to the new idrive

But Im not giving up because its just a computer how can't it be upgraded?

I imagine any aftermarket computer swap would void the entire car's warranty.

Not sure what you would do for iDrive programming and updates since your VIN would not match the installed computer. I suspect a support nightmare.
