very few cameras at the site - those that they do have are focussing on the pay machines. There is one that monitors the entrance to each level and I wasn't too far away from it, so there is a slim chance it might capture everything - the police are reviewing the footage at the moment, but I'm not too hopeful.
The only plus point out this is that I was thinking of getting a wrap done to change the colour, now at least I've got an excuse to get it done! |

took the car to a specialist today to choose a colour for the wrap - too many to choose from, but i'm thinking grey is the way to go, anyone got a decent suggestion for a new colour?
I'm thinking this colour. Last edited by bigozuk; 02-01-2014 at 07:57 AM.. |

Sorry to see this OP. I don't know what is wrong with people. Last summer my folks went to a fair where I live in MA. My dad is a big car guy as well (budget definitely very different than mine). He drove his Aston Martin DBS volante and when they came back someone had taken a rock and threw it at the rear quarter panel. Which then bounced off and hit the trunk as well.
Went straight through the aluminum panel and crack the CFRP reinforcements behind the panel as well as denting and taking additional paint off the trunk. Becuase of that only an Aston Martin certified paint and repair shop could do the work and paint matching. There isn't a shop within 100 miles that certified. I truly hope that people that do this type of reckless damage (much like the people that are just punching random people out cold in the street. It's some game apparently) and something truly horrible happens in their life. Good luck catching the person and I hope you do for your sake. |

That being said, to be honest, I do not want for you to get your X6 wrapped in that color... because that is MY plan when I am done with my current car.!!! (Just Kidding) I have been planning to pick up a CPO 2013+ X6M once I'm done playing with my current toy. Very first scheduled mod would be to have her wrapped in a flat Singapore Grey Color, so the color you have in mind seems to be on the money on what I had in mind to make happen in about 3 years or so. If you pull the trigger and go with that color wrap, please post more pictures of the finished product so I can Best wishes, whatever you decide to do in order to fix some jealous idiot's failed attempt to make themself feel better by causing damage to your car.

That flat white with the smoked tail lights looks pretty bad ass! At first, I wasn't a fan of the matte colors, but since last year I have seen that when it is done properly, it makes for an awesome looking car.

I did the OEM smoked lights with my car. The upgrade is totally worth it. I think they will look good with matte paint or glossy. I did see a factory frozen white M5 at the dealer and was pretty blown away by the finish. Not a big fan of the other frozen black and grays I've seen, but I was surprised by how appealing the white looked.

To each their own, but I have seen a couple cars that went too dark on the lights for my taste, but if the owner likes it, then rock on. The OEM Black Line tail lights are a must for me when it's time for me to go back into an X6. I am already anticipating the work I plan on my future car. Sorry to get off topic, OP. One of the reasons I am already thinking about my next car, is because similar to your situation, there is a mysterious scar on the rear pasenger side door of my car that is a couplr mm's deep. I was FURIOUS when I noticed it. Did not even have the car for a good 6 months, and it looks like some kid rested their bicycle on my car. I know the parents had to be with this kid when it happened. No note, no nothing. I know I was being a big baby at the time, but when I first saw that gash, it's like I didn't even want to drive the car anymore.. and that thing is a BLAST to drive. I' over it now, but since then, I have already started the vision on my next 4 wheel toy... can't wait!

unfortunately my insurance have advised today that the wrap is regarded as a modification and so would invalidate my insurance policy. so i need to just get the paint repaired.
i was always under the impression that wraps were regarded as temporary and so didnt impact insurance, but it appears not! so my latest thought is to get the side skirts and wheel arches sprayed to match colour of car. |

quick update on progress - the police have given up trying to catch the culprit. apparently the CCTV at the airport didn't capture any images of my car, so I'm left with having to pay for the repair through my insurance. its going to cost me my £400 insurance excess.
so while the car is in getting repaired im taking the opportunity to get the black trim around the wheel arches and side skirts sprayed to match the body. will post photos when I get it back at the end of the week. |

Finally had some decent weather to take some pictures of the car following its return from the body shop - while it was in there I got them to paint the wheel arches and side steps - much happier with how its looking now!
