I'm just assuming you want new tips on stock muffler...if you are going custom and they are telling you your tips won't fit, find another shop...

I'll take some pics today and update this post.
sorry thats what i meant...i wanted to cut off the stock tips and put on 4" tips and they said it wont fit in the opening.
I'm running 4" tips with stock spacing and they just barely touch each other. My aftermarket diffuser also fills up the outer edge completely.

I'll get you a pic - it is very close to, but doesn't touch the diffuser at the top of the tips.

do you remember how they cut the tips off?
the shop is also saying that the tips will touch side by side because theyre so wide as well

They cut it just after the vacuum line (I wanted to retain them). They installed/welded a smaller diameter coupling to extend the length so that I could bolt the tips on to my preferred length instead of having them welded. Because they're bolted I can adjust them to any desirable configuration.

im asking because the shop i went to told me my 4"tips are too big. but i think its because they were gonna copy the same placement as the stock tips which is tucked inside of the diffuser.
I think welding a coupler to extend the length of the exhaust it will bring the tips out and it will clear....gonna go back and talk to the shop

Are these from ebay? I googled Akra tips for this size and couldn't find anything except tips on ebay for $40-50 each, all from China.

The only thing on Akrapovic's website was these tips:https://www.akrapovic.com/en/car/pro...=67&yearId=246

But for $1,500 for just tips, im out https://www.vividracing.com/akrapovi...150938446.html

hi everyone, first post here!

Just got a 2013 X5M and looking to do a muffler delete. Any suggestions on where to get tips? Looking for anything between 3.5" and 4".

The ones posted in this thread look incredible!
