Million dollar question...who's kit were you running? Besides meths added octane, I'm also getting it for it's cleaning abilities when doing a 50/50 mix with water as well. My GF drives a 535xiT and we all know the carbon issues associated with that engine, I have no desire to lift the engine to remove the intake manifolds on our engines (assuming we can even use the same walnut blasting head attachment), so the pros outweigh the cons.

Seeing as Terry is requesting me to run his BMS/Coolingmist setup for the sake of continued tech support and to ensure there's no conflicts, I'm attempting to sell my Aquamist HFS-4 setup for what I paid for it before purchasing the JB4 combo I'm getting.

Don't be cheap. Pay the man his money.
Other than PP Performance in Dubai, I don't know who's tunes you're looking that cost that much. I got three seperate tunes from ESS for $900 shipped but ended up returning it and going with a Halim/HCP tune at a discount to be his S63 tuning guinea pig. It's been discussed thoroughly that all flash tunes out there are nothing more than a $250 BR base tune that's then tweaked more by each retailer and then given an MSRP...anyone paying over $1000 for a tune is being robbed. Granted S63's won't be the windfall of business that the S63TU has brought to Halim or Terry, but it's pretty common that vendors give a discount to beta testers for the sake of using us as their guinea pigs to further develop their products by ironing out the kinks to improve future sales.

Once I sell my Aquamist HFS-4 setup, I'll be buying the JB4, BCM and meth setup...that's not being cheap, it's being sensible since I'm spending more than either of you. The S63 took as long as it did to get JB4 installed because we're BMW's bastard child and testbed before they ironed out the kinks and changed it to the S63TU. Logically the support we'll get for the S63 is 1/100th of what someone would get for the N54, S55 and S63TU for obvious reasons.

Another question you guys may, or may not, have an answer to.

Since I already have Stage 1, do I need to remove it before installing JB4? Does JB4 make the Stage 1 obsolete or is JB4 just an add-on to Stage 1?

I figure I can at least reuse the harnesses that are plugged into the T-Map sensors...but may be wrong on that too...

S63 X5M/X6M Stage1->JB4 upgrade kit
Upgrades your S63 Stage1 system to an S63 JB4 BETA. The JB4 includes a new control box extra wires that will be added in to your Stage1 harness. It's a more advanced install than Stage1 so carefully review the install directions in the link below . Compatible with 2011-2014 E chassis S63 X5M and X6M vehicles only.

Click here for S63 Stage1->JB4 directions and additional information: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...325#post490325
My S63 JB4 arrived in two days from CA to Australia - will look at getting this in hopefully this weekend. Kinda wishing I'd bling'd up and got the billet enclosure...

Will post up any challenges/learnings I have installing it.

Congrats! If you havent yet, i most definitely suggest "blinging up" and getting the JB4 bluetooth option. Control and do EVERYTHING straight from your phone. I'm in love.

Don't quote me on this, but i do believe it's an add on and you will not have to uninstall your current setup. I'd double check by shooting Terry an e-mail.

Is there an Android app? Had a quick look but the two on play store looked terrible.
I don't have any iOS devices so if it' Apple only I'll stick to laptop.

So is this product ready to ship now? I was looking seriously at this for my 335 but upgraded to the X5M before I had the chance...

Android as well. Terry uses Android products, so if I had to guess Android app is probably even better than the Apple one.

That's the one - I'd recommend getting the BCM too (and aluminium enclosure if you can stretch your budget).

Would you know what it's called? Both seem to be third-party apps.

Thanks guys, kept checking the website and waiting for it to show up under "Tunes" but never thought to look under "Upgrades".

EDIT: Also, are there any official claims for gains for the JB4. I can't access N54Tech from work so I'm completely oblivious to what's going on over there.

According to this description:

Please note the JB4 Mobile app is available for both iOS or Android and sold separately via the iOS or Android app store on your phone. This adapter is not compatible with the JB4 windows interface.

It seems to be the second link you posted but I could be wrong.

I used aquamist, then i switched to a "Devils Own" tank and lines, which improved my situation but was still a goddamn nightmare with the meth flow, and still had a couple of leaks. Maybe my install was botched by the shop, but I just dont ever want to mess with it again. Extremely flamable and dangerous as well.

How does a full second off the 0-60, full second off the 1/4 time and 9mph gain in the 1/4 mile sound?

Sounds great, I can't deny it.

So, the BCM and the Bluetooth dongle are a must. Especially if you don't have to run any cables into the cabin. Anyone to report on difficulty of install? Stage 1 was a piece of cake, but I'm curios what a JB4 install entails.

Feels great too.

Yes, i would most definitely recommend the BSM for higher boost and the bluetooth for ease of, well, everything. Install is cake as long as you follow directions. The only tough part was getting the ECU cover off.
