That's an OEM unit from bimmer retrofit not the aftermarket one.

This one has wireless apple CarPlay installed.

I have to see how bad it will be before I disassemble to make sure I get everything before I quote a price.

Glad it worked out for you. What insurance did you have that covers something like this?

Technically all insurances do, it's in a grey area they work in, since it was deemed the dealer at fault it was a rare case.

Basically this was not normal where and tear or mechanical failure and caused by outside issues or engine design.

Basically if a rock hits your oil pan puts a hole in it and your engine seizes because of loss of oil they will cover it. It's under your comprehensive.

Just nobody really thinks of their insurance for something like this and it's not widely known.

And of course they won't really broadcast that they do this either.

Dealers pissed that they sided with me so even the grand they offered me to go away is off the table now lol. so f$@k them! They still want their $1300 for the OFHG fix that blew my engine.

Oh well.

How do you like the Performance Exhaust? How different does it sound from the normal exhaust with the valve fixed open? Price?

Ive been on the fence about ordering one of these. I have the exhaust system that came with the M-Sport package which I think is the same as any other X5, just different tips. It would be nice to have a slightly more aggressive sound

Sorry to hear that and your car was very nice with all the upgrades. I may be interested in some parts but considering I just bought a Sequoia as the family car, I don't drive the BMW much anymore so I don't think it would be a wise allocation of money to the BMW.

Thanks everyone for all the super nice things you guys said! It's really bitter sweet but it's time.

Last pics before the stripping started .

Dirty from all the rain last night!

Once I get everything in order I'll get in touch with everyone who was interested in the parts and start to let them go.

Thanks to all!

Last pic was his cell mate who also had a blown engine !
