X5m new plugs many missfires

Recently i did a valve cover seals job
New Downpipes and tune

First i was having a miss-fire on cylinder 1

It happened when i driver over 3,000 rpms

Now the miss-fire is on to cylinder 7

And now the code is instant and reduce power effect

I was thinking it might be a spark plug gap issue?

What did you gap it to? Also which plugs are you running?

Could also be the coils.

Take coils from 5 and 3 and swap them over to 1 and 7. See if the problem migrates to 5 and 3.

Yea but thats why i mentioned to move the coils from 1 and 5 to one of the other cylinders. This way, if you get a misfire on the other cylinders, you know that coil was bad.

Which ones did you go with? Eldor is suppose to be the best these days.

Eldor coils are the ones you need to buy. You ll find a good price online, I used Autohaus. Eldor are replacements for some other coils BMW tried. Eldors are supposed to be on the new BMW motors. Eldor are also less expensive by far than what you will find at a local auto parts store.

If the author that started this post has already changed the coils with something else and its running fine? You re good dont worry about the Eldor coils, I dont think you ll see a difference by changing them if your no longer mis firing.
