Driver stabilisation failure

Hi,
Thank you for letting me join. It's my first post so please go easy on me.

I bought my first X6 (E71, 2013, 3.0d) on Friday .
Drove over 300 miles (mostly motorway) to get it home with no problems.
Got home, parked up. When I went back to the car a little while later, I got the error message "Drivers Stabilisation Failure" and also "Oil Level Too High". There were no faults present when I picked up the car. Even the oil level was fine.

Today I started the car and the "Driver Stabilisation Failure" had disappeared but the oil issue remains. The car is parked on a level surface.

I don't have a diagnostic tool so have ordered the following:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313317875869

Firstly, are these faults related?
Secondly, what's caused this?
Thirdly, what's the fix?

Thanks

You need to scan it and then research the code...

As for the oil.... drop some and recheck...

Unrelated issues...

I’d consider getting a standalone scan tool also...like the latest edition of the Foxwell 520 pro preloaded for BMW (or do it after purchase on their website)...or whatever it’s now called. It will pay for itself.

Thanks for your advise. I've ordered a scan tool (iCarsoft BMM V2.0).

Funny enough, the battery was low when I picked her up but I'd have thought a 300mile drive would have charged it.

Glad to know that the issues are not related.

I've booked her in at a BMW specialist to give her a once over and drain the oil.

Thanks again
