Exclamation Halogen VS. LED Safety (E71 X6)

What’s good guys...

So, I have been tossing around the idea of putting ALL LED bulbs in my 2011 E71 X6 35iXdrive. I currently have the Xenon headlamps with halogen (yellow) haloes and halogen fog lights. I want to not only put the LUX bulbs in for the halos but also white LED turn signals and white LED fog lights. NOTE: This is my daily driver.

I’m not worried about the coding because I have a great local garage that can code out the flashing if I receive flashes from the LED.

BUT, I am concerned about the safety. Do any of you know if the LED bulb replacements can be a safety hazard in the sense of combustion or electric connection? The last thing I want is to be in the McDonalds drive through and my light combusts and catch flame.

Let me know if you have any knowledge on this! Thank you!

LEDs aren't going to really be an issue. I have LED for the halos and for the fog lights. You'll need a canbus filter to get rid of any error messages. I left my xenons alone as they were close enough in color. Just make sure you place the canbus filter in an area where it can displace the heat.

Nice! Thank you so much. I figured the Halos would be a simple plug and play.

These are the bulbs that I purchased for the Fog Lights...

Do you think I will need a canbus filter when using these? ^^^

Have you ever experienced the LED fog lights getting too hot?

Im sorry for all of the annoying questions. I really appreciate it.

The description says it's plug and play with nothing about the error code. You can try them for the fog lights and see if you get a bulb out message. I ordered mine from ECS and the package included the error canceling message. I haven't had a problem with the LED getting too hot.
