LED Low Beam Malfunction
Hey Everyone!
I have a 2013 E70 X5M with LED headlights. Recently I have been getting a Low Beam Malfunction where the drivers side low beam is turning off. If i turn off the headlights and turn them back on it goes away. It was happening a lot one drive and I came back and checked and cleared the codes and then it was a awhile till it happened again, but hadn't been driving as much. Sometimes it happens quite a bit over the course of a drive. I am getting the following fault codes from Carly when it happens: 00AD0C - LED head light module (LHM) left: detect LED high beam 00AD0A - LED head light module (LHM) left: detect LED low beam Yall think I need to replace the entire LED headlight assembly or just the main headlight module or the headlight control module? https://parts.bmwmonterey.com/a/BMW_...t/63_1051.html https://parts.bmwmonterey.com/a/BMW_...D/63_1495.html Thanks in advance!

I think you would be good to just replace the control module. Since that module is on the bottom of the headlight assy it may be getting moisture into it and causing issues.
I also have the LED headlights and get the same issue you are having every once in a while. Mine always happens when it has been sitting out in the rain and the headlight switch is in the "auto" position when I start the car. Cycling the headlight switch on and off fixes the issue until the next occurrence. I started turning the headlights to off when leaving the car and rarely get the error any more.

I've been looking on eBay for the control module, lots of them on there.
Front bumper and wheel well liner needs to come out at the least, so lengthy job but not too difficult!

Good luck on the install, looking forward to how difficult it is and if the new part works.

Does anyone know if you have to code a new headlight module if you install it or does it just work?

OllieX5M For the Fading headlight, hmmmm not sure on that, most LEDS are binary like on/off, never heard of fading, it doesn't throw any codes does it? Does a quick google search find anyone with the same issue?

Yeah it seems like my driver side light is pointing down and the right side is pointing further up the road that’s why I feel it’s not as bright is there a way to adjust them?
