Widest rear tires possible ?

Good day everyone ,

Yesterday I saw one x5 with rear tires wider than normal and it looks so good and aggressive. Probably most of x5's in my country are comes with 315 width rear tires and it was bigger certainly bigger than that but I dont know the exact width.

Please share your x5's photos from back or just inform me what would be the max width with 20 inch rims.

Most X5 come with 255 or 275 width as standard.
Only M sport package and M have 315 width in the rear.

Any wider then 315 and you will have to lift the suspension and put new wheels
You must have seen 315 and thought they are wider.

im running 295/30/22 front, 335/25/22 Rear, no issues

I know that m sport versions come with 315 rear width. But I would like to know how it's looking when you upgrade it to 325 or 335 and possibility to stay with same 20 inch rims.

Problem with running big rears (from what I learned recently) is mostly the issue with how big you can run the fronts with out rubbing on components. 295 seems to be the biggest.

335 for rear is pretty over kill but wow a 25 profile for the rear?

i wanted the biggest ones i could fit. so those are them lol. but i mean ive been driving on that size for almost 2-3 years, no issues. cant rotate just side to side.

I'm running the same...I can still break them loose when the trans is flashed to RWD only.

I have a 2011 and a 2013 x5d and I'm considering 285-40-20 front and 325-35-20 rear for my 2011. The height of this set up comes to 29 inches which is the same as the stock 255-50-19 that came from the factory. I'm not sure if the width will be a problem or will the tire look to fat. I'm doing it for the look because I don't drive very aggresive except when passing. If anyone has any suggestions or cautions please reply.

He has no issues with those overfat tires, then you should not either.

It's just 10mm wider than stock, or 20mm wider than the stock 315...

I'm not sure, visually, if someone can tell a 10mm difference from the back when looking at any X5 on the street.... Add to that, many manufacturers, while they state a value of X for a width, you'll find that it can vary some based on the thread design and sidewalls.

Changing to a more aggressive tire block tread could have a bigger impact visually than going from say 315 to 325.

An quick online view of a set 335s can be seen by typing in Rennen x5. This is a presentation of a highly modified x5 in 2014 at SEMA. Its not the best but gives you and idea.

Yes, the width is 20mm more with 335 . but the diameter is less and RPM are 17 more then OEM
