Taller Tires on Style 214
Hey Guys!
Wanted to get your input and advice on putting plus size tires on my 2011 X5 35D with style 214s. I want a taller tire to fill up the wheel gap. I'm really loving the look of a meatier tire too. Bit of a noob when it comes to tires, any guidance or advice would be reallllly appreciated. The tires I'm looking at are the new Michelin - Pilot Sport All Season 4. I can also go with the DWS06 again, but wanted to try something new. Many thanks!!! |

Style 214s are 20 inch wheels.
Love the Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 by the way, I recently mounted them

I’m not sure you can increase the wheel diameter by much due to the way the front suspension is designed. If you check the wheel well part of the front suspension upper control arm is over the tire. I’d measure the overall diameter of the tire and look for one that won’t increase the radius to the point it rubs on the control arm. You may not find a lot of tires in the 20 inch size with more diameter.
