Any more word on this? I noticed mine started doing this today also (late morning). Got into the car tonight after work (inside garage) and no issues.

LVDS cable is the cable that goes from the camera in the trunk lid, to the module by the driver's left foot. From there, there is an FBAS cable that goes to the CIC.

Back-up camera flicker fixed

My Back-up camera started to flicker a few weeks ago, and now is just blank. Inside the hatch-back I disconnected the cable from the camera and sprayed the cable side with electrical contact cleaner. I plugged in and unplugged the cable a couple of times to get the cleaner on both sides. Then unplugged the cable for a couple of hours to be sure that the contacts were dry and plugged in again. now my camera is working...

Mines still intermittently flickering. I might try that.

BMW was replacing this cable when our cars were under warranty but that frequently saw recurring flickering down the road. Probably should have been a recall issued, but it wasn't hurting anyone.

I haven't personally looked at the connector to check it's configuration for flaws, but as stated above... I would also try: Disconnect, hit it with some silicon spray, reconnect, see if it cleans up temporarily. Look for a better mechanism, perhaps swap the crappy brittle BMW wiring connectors for something newer.

Since the weather has become cooler here I have not had any issues with flickering of the rear view cam. So that leads me to think it's a heat issue in my case.
