Exclamation 2013 XHP not supported - LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Hello all,

I have a 2013 Msport 35i and I love my truck with the tune I have on it. However, I want more out of the XF8.

Apparently my truck is so late in production that XHP is not supported for my truck. But it is supported for the E70 and the ZF8, so thats weird that it wont work. I emailed them and supplied my VIN and they confirmed it will not work.

SO my question to you all is who else has run into this issue?

If you have, and you still want XHP lets get our names together and I will present XHP with a number of potentially interested customers and just maybe, it will be enough for them to make the revisions to make the program work on our vehicles.

And if your'e reading this and you are XHP creators. PLEASE make it work for my truck

Me!!!

I’ve seen quite a few guys comment on the xhp fb posts that they would like support for our gearboxes.

I really hope support comes soon.

I’m FBO with MHD Stage 2+, and I just ordered a PS2 turbo. Will be really sad to be running a stock TCU flash!!

Hmm I just went on their website and it shows most e70s are supported and it looks like they just added the 50i....going to have to check this out...

Nevermind, looks like it's on the next gen....oh well.

Its not just the late 2013 models but all the 8 speeds in these cars. I just talked to a rep over at XHP and he just explained it to me. I guess our transmission is some weird combo of parts which makes it completely different from anything else. I wish they would make this more clear on the website. When you enter your information, it shows as being compatible but apparently that the F15 X5, not the e70.

I really would like something to tune the transmission and compensate the MHD tune. Going Stage 2+ soon and it would be helpful.

I had the same response, our gearbox is different from everything else . I actually had no idea and thought it’s the same 8 speed zf in the other models.

Xhp didn’t explicitly Say they won’t ever support it , so we can just be hopeful.

I just sent a request to see if we can purchase the tool that will allow us to access the transmissions ECU so we can just adjust the tables ourselves (shift points, line pressures, etc). I understand that our transmission has such a limited market that it doesn't warrant their time and that's fine, but sell me the tools so I can do it myself. All I really need is access to change the line pressure and torque limit.

I dunno if its a big deal, I ran Xhp on my 335D with the zf6hp, which is the same trans in a lot of the E70s (30i,48i,M). It wasn't worth it, made very little difference for the $300 for the all stages licenses. I wouldnt waste your money unless you have a custom tune.

Good to know! I think the results will be different for the 8 speed as it's got completely different characteristics.

Im interested to see atleast how it effects this transmission. Plus gear display and 2nd gear starts are something I actually want

slow x5

I've been blowing up their messenger and facebook posts asking for support for us with the 8 speed. its always the same answer, they aren't popular enough and if or when they do we'll be the last ones to get it.

Seems strange they are having issues porting the tunes over to the E70's. The transmissions are the same as many, many other cars and manufacturers.

Agreed, not sure why this is such a hurdle for them.

For a long time MHD would not work and after I demanded a refund and went to my tuner for a custom tune they finally figured it out for the ZF8HP N55 E70 X5 and now I have MHD and LOVE it.

Im sure XHP can figure it out if they wanted to...

From what I understand, the reason why the 8HP on the E70 50I and other submodels are not supported yet is they used a rare chipset unique only to a few years of production and thus why it hasn't been cracked yet. While there is demand (I would LOVE to have it myself) it is still relatively small so it keeps getting pushed back.

Looks like some good news. XHP acquired an E70 and is working their magic on the transmission ECU. It’s coming!

NICE!!!! I just replaced all the solenoids in mine and the only mechatronic sleeve this transmission has and WOW what a difference! At a 150k, this is shifting almost like new again, before it was horrible no matter what I did (reset adaptations, oil/filter, Sonnax Zip kit).

I would like to tighten up the shifts just a bit more in sport manual mode though so this is great news

I've been looking at the Sutphin transmission tune and the Malone Stage 2 tune. The Sutphin transmission tune requires a XHP file back up. Not an expert but seems one needs an adroid system to transfer the file. The tune itself is only $150. Has anyone used the the Sutphin tune? I'm strongly considering going this route.

I have the Sutphin tune on my 35d (6HP). I have nothing to compare it to aside from the stock software. It very much livened up the 35d and I would definitely do it again. Customer service was great and I'm even considering his TC soon.

I think XHP now supports ios, but you can email them to make sure.
