Without a stage 2 tune you WILL get a CEL using catless downpipes....if that is what you are asking.

I have always heard good things about this guy:

Can you post a link to where you purchased these? Also where do I find the code for %20 off? Thanks.

You’ll have to email them. I’ve say politely asked if they could do the discount they did last year.

The real budget option is simply gutting the factory downpipes. The catalyst material inside will crumble rather easily and a combination of a hammer and some longer prybars can get the job done. You can even pick up a set of them on ebay for cheap to gut instead of the ones that came with your car. OEM fitment guaranteed.

regardless of gutting stock CAT or replace them with Catless downpipe, do you have to code? in order to avoid CEL? or it's not needed?

My O2's did not pass inspection due to readiness of downstream O2 sensors. TUne will remove the light and indefinitely reset the CEL so that light doesnt show but O2 will never be in ready state.

I have a Turner Module on it claims 85+ hp gain / full Akrapovic/ custom intakes , so you recommend a flash / tune to run DP’s stacked with the module ? - what’s your take on the vrsf or (whatever they are called) - I have seen both good reviews and bad ? As for now my trucks an absolute beast if I do the math on the low side with the mods I should be hitting about 700 easy not to wheels tho

Nice, so did you tune the car yourself? If yes what changes were made?

When I say Tuning- I mean just doing all the mods - so let's start with the CF lip - then the stock airbox that I have designed (modded)the stock front part of airbox to be sort of a ram air set up into 2 intakes that in installed / Turner Beta module that supposedly I have the only one 93 octane? ( I don't know how true that is but that's what I was told) - have it dialed to 9 - so Max perf ! - Full Akrapovic titanium cat back , - KW variant 3 fully adjustable suspension. - now as for tune I'm going to stack the Turner box with something/ I need the car on a dyno to do so - I forget what kind of DP's are on the car now I don't believe their stock but I'm looking to get new ones probably VSRF OR ? Whatever they are called - but I do want good O2 positioning - so no CEL ! - also turboblankets very good idea ! So I'm basically mulling around thinking about what kind of downpipe's to buy now.

The VRSF down pipes look good especially the welding, another quality thing that entices me to them is the flex section which gives you a little more wiggle room I think that’s a good idea but it’s also another part that’s prone to leaking in the future- I think a turbo blanket and a high-end wrap would be excellent addition to go with / I have the 2 bolt flange 2010 X5M - Full Akrapovic after DP,- maybe the Akrapovic might help or hinder installation? I guess we’ll see

Before ordering, check out the underside and see what type of flange you have (either two bolt or a slip-fit. If you have the slip fit, I HIGHLY recommend the downpipes from ARM Motorsports. Even though they say the 550, they fit the N63 and S63 powered X5's with slip fit connections perfectly. Quality is amazing especially considering the price (under 350). Wrap them in Design Engineering Titanium Exhaust Heat Wrap.
