I used two different ones. There is one close to the mirror wire loom that is a green with white stripe. I used that for my dash cam.

For my radar, there is another wire that is green with brown stripe.

Both of these give 12v with ignition.

I used the sunroof motor bolt to ground. (T25?).

So fiddling around I ended up using the BROWN and GREEN/WHITE wires. I should have taken a picture to confirm . Now when I start the car, it powers up and when I cut the ignition off it powers off. It does NOT stay on if I have it what i call radio mode lol (engine off radio playing).

I HIGHLY suggest a volt meter (the proper way), but I did not use one.

You can also use TIS for the wiring stuff...

Well ya I was using a volt meter...I'm not just going in there tapping random wires lol.

But yes I ended up finding the green with white stripe as well, used that one for the dash cam. Used another lead for the radar. Didnt want to dump a bunch of things on one source.

I spent the morning getting things done on the X5M...
- Wash and interior detail
- Oil change(only required one trip to the parts store...)
- Hard wired my R3 into the mirror(thanks for the links/help, made the job super easy!)
- Painted my front reflectors black. I had clear aftermarket ones, but wasn't happy with how they looked. I am going to see about ordering OEM clears as they may look/fit better.
- Re-mounted the Vorsteiner front splitter. The 2 sided tape I used originally was starting to fail, so I used a wider more heavy duty 3M product this time around. Fitment was good before, but now it's even better.

Haven't don't mine yet either but will be soon. Have about 4k miles or so left on the fronts - rears are basically new. I already have the front pads but am thinking of throwing on some F85 front rotors when it comes time

It really is a cake walk. I am fairly mechanic and in all the jobs I have done before it was by far the easiest. Found a video on you tube and the guy did a great job. I was apprehensive at first but when local BMW guy said it would be $750, I said eff that. I went to pelican parts and bought good quality parts, and did it myself. I will do that back brakes maybe in a few months and have brembos all around. If they are good enough for MotoGp they are good enough for me

Can you please let me know which mirror tab links/help you've used for X5M?
I know there are several threads out there but they are bit different from each other and wanted to know for X5M(S63) perspective.

My X5M is a 2013 so it's LCI. I used brown for ground and green/white for 12V switched.

Pumped out as much power steering fluid as I can (0.85 liters) and replaced with Pentosin CHF11S fluid.

Changed out my transmission pan and fluid. Wow, what a major pain! Saved over $500, though.

What was the worst part? How did the refill go? I have to do this shortly and I'm a bit nervous...

Can't wait for mine! I'm so sick of using my head to hold it up.

Getting the fill plug loose was very difficult. I had to keep banging on it with a hammer and Allen key. The worst part were three bolts that were mostly inaccessible due to a transmission brace. I had to use a grinder to shorten my T40 bit and tape it to a wrench to painfully slowly loosen, then tighten those three bolts. I’ve seen elsewhere a workaround to lift the transmission out of the way, but there was no way I would do that. The clearance was also difficult. I don’t have a lift, and had my car slightly higher on wood planks. Even so, space was very tight. Also, I was not able to achieve the proper torque setting because my 1/2 inch torque wrench required several adapters for the small T40 bit, which yields very inaccurate results. Since the torque requirement is so small, I just estimated it by hand tightening all around. Ironically, the easiest part was filling with my transfer pump, even though I burned myself several times on the exhaust during the final fill, which requires the car to be running at operating temperature. I ended up pushing the plunger down and holding the hose up to the fill hole with both arms behind my head. It was quite a contortionist dream!
