Is this to compete with the Mercedes R class? I hate that too. If I was going for an SUV I would just get the X5.

Well there is room for the award winning V10 as an M version.
The base version will be the 4.4 litre biturbo V8 with 420+ Hp and Torque. The engine options for the E72 are the N64B44O1 & S85 engines. I believe the one we saw has the N64 engine which by the way is also being tested on the F01/02 7 series. Last edited by chonko; 03-02-2007 at 11:00 AM.. |

The X6 is suppose to come as a Alpina V8 Kompressor verison as well. the 4.4 Litre engline is suppose to have more than 550 hp in the X5 and X6 versions.
Due to its weight, it will with that engine be 200kg lighter that the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and have +29hp. Great Car!!! |

The N64B44O1(4.4 litre Biturbo V8) will be limited to 420+ HP and Torque. 500+ HP and Torque was realized during bench test, but the actual production engine will be limited. Alpina already has the supercharged version of the 4.4 litre V8 in the form of the B7. From the product launch point of view, the N64B44O1 engine will debut in the following order: 1. E72 X6 2. F01/02 750i 3. E70 X5 4. F10 550i 5. F12 650i |
