Looks good, but no way that is going to fly in PA! Expect to get a ticket. I just put 35% all around except the front.

Took apart the Tailgate Control Module today to see if anything looked visually wrong... trying to diagnose why the liftgate will not open all the way automatically and why it says the liftgate is still open when it is closed.

I'm sure you've checked this, and it's probably unrelated, but there is liftgate settings in the iDrive menu that will set how far the liftgate opens.

Busy day today. Replaced the 2 seals at the oil filter housing, changed oil and filter, changed serpentine belt and change the coolant reservoir. The coolant tank was just preventive, but it was a real bitch getting to the quick disconnect at the bottom. (total time spent - about 3 hours including changing the tank and belt). Did have to make a parts run as I dropped one of the intake nuts (oddball M7 size, but luckily Napa had it in stock)
Still have some work for another weekend, need to change the right front hub (stripped threads on one of the wheel bolts) and change 4 rotors and brake pads. I do believe I have a rear main seal leaking, which kinda sucks as the car only has 49k miles on it. Cleaned it all up and when I am back under there next weekend to tackle the brakes will take a look to make sure that is where the leak actually is. A lot of labor for a $15 part. |

Hello, just joined, cant post yet...says I have to respond to someone to trigger activation... I Tried to fit an EGR delete kit to my 40d today only to find I have an additional 2nd cooler on inlet manifold at rear. It already has the DPF removed and EGR deleted off software along with remap. Normally theres a metal Y pipe there PN 11618509116 but I have what looks like a heat exchanger/ cooler/ pre heater instead with an extra 2 low pressure type pipes coming off and going under the car. I spent a few hours searching and can find no info on it at all. Cant even find it on realoem with my cars vin number. The number I took off the cooler is VPN VPAKAH-19206-AE, I can only find photos of it. My car does have the tow pack so maybe its an additional oil cooler, but I need to know if I can remove the whole thing like the standard Y pipe (preferred method) or if I have to make an additional blanking piece to the pipe that comes from the front EGR cooler.
Thanks, ALan Edit, not a lot of info in the N57 313hp engine at all, couldnt find any schematics for the EGR, coooling of transmission system. Photos of EGR cooler now uploaded and in album. Last edited by AllyG13; 08-16-2020 at 03:44 PM.. |

In the last few days I have:
- Installed a boost tap and P3 vent boost gauge. I most likely will be making a quick write up about it and posting a how-to video to YouTube. - Bought and installed a new air filter. Now I have a spare to use when I'm cleaning one filter. - Disconnected rear driver side door handle as it was blowing fuse 132. Now my comfort access and keyless start are working again. - In the near future I will be upgrading to larger M rotors and 4 piston Brembo front calipers. Painting a similar color to the photo attached.

Another busy day catching up on some maintenance and improvements. Replaced the right front hub (due to stripped out lug threads in one of the holes), converted all 4 wheels to studs, new slotted and drilled brake rotors and EBC Red Stuff pads. So much better braking now.

Can anyone with 335 or higher width tires share a picture of their x5's from back to show how it's look. I am considering to get wide tires but want to see difference.

Replaced both of my rear air shocks and got 4 Conti DWS tires installed.
Oh, and I crossed 90K miles...
