Not bad?

That's pretty darn good. Just getting the thing out of the car & back should be $1,100-$1,200

I mean, I'm no pro, but I wouldn't do it for less.

Rods are a weak point on these, S/N63, tu/2/3

I believe they do have several options for stronger rods.

Thank you for that!

As of now, she's back in action. Not pushing it beyond 3000 rpm.

Mechanic said to drive like that for at least 1000 km (about 620 miles). And to change the oil after double that distance "just in case"

I really want to kick it into M mode and rip up highways again.

*Sigh*

That's what I always used to think until I owned this engine....when the turbo lines plugged and the CCV system was shot on mine, so much white smoke came out the exhaust I thought for sure I blew a head gasket or cracked head. I was both relieved and shocked when it was just the turbo lines. With turbo engines, when mass quantities of oil gets injected into the intake from the turbos because of blocked lines, the smoke is white for whatever reason.
How do you clean the turbo lines?

If your leaking coolant and oil wouldn't you lose coolant and eventually trip the low coolant light on the I drive?

Does a faulty fuel injector lead to high levels of oil consumption?

Here in Canada injectors were under recall.

Oh really? So, can we just go to the dealer and get these done? For which year and model?

Correct, they refused to do the injector SIB on my Low mile X5m in Bahrain too.

I have a spare VFE tune sitting here that i got for a friend but he decided to sell his X5M so he is selling it now. Message me if your interested in buying it.

With a small barrel cleaning brush set that attaches to a drill, it's not fun and very time consuming. Recommend just replacing the lines if yours are blocked/getting coked up.

No a faulty injector will dilute your oil with so much gas that it will ruin your engine. Get it fixed ASAP. High levels of oil consumption is almost always caused by bad valve guide seals on the s63/n63 engines. Plugged turbo oil return lines can cause it also but it's not as common.

Unfortunately, even though the M uses the EXACT same injectors as the 50i, the recall was for the n63 engine only. M owners were left out to dry I am sorry to say.

I just saw this lol! I actually got the Kess V2 and started doing my own tunes. Very mild stuff not doing anything crazy. Went for pops and bangs on sport mode which is great, given that I haven't done any exhaust or performance tune. Still trying to wrap my head around how it all works.

Btw, I sent you a DM, could use some advice.

Thanks!

I got 2016x5m and got same problem #2 cylinder misfire. Not could, not plugs, changed the ccv line. Misfire happens when it feels like it. It will happen, then I cycle the key and it goes away. Lots and lots of oil burning going on on passenger side after it warms up. I wish I could get that kind of labour to my engine here but alas.......
