Car smokes under hood only when heater is on?
I have a 2010 BMW X5 M and just had a lot of work done by a bmw dealership. I had new cilia and injectors, crankcase hose replaced and serviced and new vacuum lines installed. No check engine lights and drives fine during the day. In the morning on a short drive to work smoke starts pouring out from under the hood and comes through the vents. This only happens when the heater is running, any ideas? I just spent a ton of money addressing some mechanical issues, not sure what this could be.

Does it smell like coolant, fuel, just smoke?
Could be the heater valve down under the expansion tank on the framerail, could be one of the aux. water pumps, so many possibilities. If you can't narrow down what is smoking and where from, just get it back to a shop asap. |
