Is a drained battery can cause issue on a E70 ?
Hi,
My father's 2012 BMW X5 (35i) has an error message Engine Malfunction after car won't start because the battery is too low charged... (it's the same battery since 2012 I guess). Do you know if the battery is a commun issue for all of E70/E71 if it's too low charged, can cause any electronic issue ? Thank you,

Any battery approaching eight years old on any car will be an issue. However, it’s doubtful that it’s the original battery, as they wouldn’t really last that long on this car. The easiest remedy is to simply put in a new battery. You could also get the charging system checked to see if it’s possibly the alternator. Lastly, does he lock/arm the car after each use? I’ve seen it before where people don’t lock the car so the network systems don’t properly go to sleep. That can cause a drain.
