Hey guys, since installing my 22's, I've not been able to get the tpms to pick up. They came with the wheels, and I sent mine with my wheels to a buyer. The new owner of my wheels is saying the same thing with my old ones that were working just fine. Is there a trick to the reset? It's really annoying to keep resetting them and have the light on.
If I should get new ones, any suggestions on where to get them or which to go with? Any suggestions for ones to use with 22's and lower profile tires? Lastly, I need to make black valve stems. |

Is it possible to code the system to recognize the new sensors? I know my buddy just picked up a Snap-On TPMS diagnostic tool. Might have to do something with needing recoding?

When I got my new wheels the tpms did this and all I had to do was reset the pressure reading and it synced up fine. I think I had to be parked for it to reset fully.
Assuming you tried that already though. |

2012 X5M How do you reset the pressure reading? I haven't tried doing the tpms reset while parked. I'll try that. |

It might be something as stupid as closing the driver's door while attempting the reset.
I was resetting a service indicator light while in my garage, and tried FIVE times and couldn't get it to reset. Kept getting some strange symbol (now I understand it was telling me the door was open). I gave up and tried again the next day, but this time I closed the driver door and it worked with no issue.

You wrote that the TPMS "came with the wheels"...but do you know which type of sensors you have and if they are correct for the model year/build date of your X5?
The type of TPMS (sensors) changed during the e70 X5 production run and it also changed when the f15 X5 came out. So it needs to be made clear when buying wheels...what type of TPMS are already installed or will need to be installed. Any tire shop (especially the national shops like Discount/America Tire, or Bell Tire, etc...should be able to hook you up with the correct type of sensors...or be able to activate them if they haven't been activated.
