What's with the vendors bumping 5-10 of their sale threads periodically???
It really gets ANNOYING when you guys bumping a mass group of your sale threads... some of you EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!
I use the New Posts link all the time, and TODAY, I've seen two vendors bump up a whole bump of their same posts within 15 minutes. I remember when one of the admins here reminded vendors not to do this.

reminding them doesnt work for long, so i'm writing a program that will limit the number of bumps they can have per day

I agree, we counted one vendor that bumped 23 threads in less than 2 hours.

"don't be a vendor bump whore."
lol. to bad u can't have 1 page with all vendor on it> have their "banner" so u can click on them and it takes u, to there sub page and they can bump there own threads. no clash'n. So the main page has the vendor logo and they can post whatever in their sub forum. or at the vendor level they can post a certain amount.

16 threads in less than 10 minutes, it's way out of hand.

More vendor bump whoring by a different vendor. Add "ttt" to the list of common phrases.

Mark, too bad you can't code/build an opt-out feature, similar to the Do Not Call list or the Opt-Out Pre-Screening feature that financial companies use.

We agree with the crazy thread bumping with phrases "pm's replied", "ttt", "thanks for your orders", etc. etc. etc. and it should be stopped. Hell, there's a t-shirt thread with 8 pages of "pm's replied"...come'on guys, maybe your t-shirts just don't spark that much interest....and keeping threads like that bumped to the top is just plain ignorant.
I have a feeling jlevis is simply doing what we are considering doing....and that is joining in on this unless something is done about it. The guilty parties know who they are, as it's blatently obvious, but it still persists. From our standpoint, we only try to reply to a thread if there's an update w/ relavent information or assistance, or we are answering a question. Jason and I work online all day, everyday (well, except weekends). We could easily make a thread for every single item we sell, and keep them bumped at the very top of the sponsor's forum pretty much non-stop. This would provide no real value to the community, piss-off everyone else, and just make for an ugly situation. Please, let's get something done about this soon.

Hi Guys,
I would like to jump in here and apologize in advance for all the thread bumping. I take personal responsibility for that as it was entirely my mistake. I too HATE the thread bumping so I try to minimize it. I just realized that our threads were way down and we had not refreshed them in over 2 weeks. It was a complete mistake to do it all at once and from here on out, I will pay much closer attention to keep it at a minimum as well as keep only relevant threads up there. To the other vendors, please do accept my apologies. I find it just as annoying as you guys and it was a lapse of attention on my part. |

I'll chime in as well because i do it everyday and find it laughable we have clowns here who do it too pointing others out!!!! I've suggested to Jason personally and a few of his moderators to simply take the time to make a specific sub forum for each vendor and you'll get no such bumping occuring daily and we can all list what we like in our own sub forum. Instead of wasting time writing a program to limit our bumps daily try doing this as i've been on many forums through the years with this type of set up. Unless of course you wanna write a code to limit how much this forum costs to be a vendor on????
My apologies to anyone this somehow offends but we all have a significant financial commitment here and thus want our threads seen! |
