Uugh You are so luck to have your VIN#. I ordered by X6 50i Dec. 30...NH Dealer had a car on order for his stock...and changed it to fit my options/color. Was set to build Feb. 22. I changed two options (added head up display & soft close doors) 3 weeks ago(said I could change options without affecting price or date)....pushed out build to March 10!!!! Can't belive it's taking this long....could be 12 weeks total by the time I see it. Still says Production scheduled with NO confirmed date. !!!!! Wonder if it will be 2011????? Patiently waiting.....any advice? I do have a Production Order number...but no VIN#. Wedsite tracking says "On Order" ...hasn't moved for 6 weeks!
Thanks, -Likecarz |

You guys are going to hate this, but I ordered mine end of January and already have the vin, it may be your dealer that f...d up, as a matter of fact my dealer got the vin number 2 days before it showed in production on bmw site. Also the reason may be the changes. I do not think your order will change to 2011, as far as I know the production on 2011 models does not start until april and you can order a 2010 until end of this month. You better hope its not a 2011 if you are planing to lease because I am sure the programs will be really bad on 2011 in the beginning. Good luck anyway and I will post some photos when I get it. the time is just passing so slow.

Everyone keeps saying the lease programs are going to be bad for the MY 2011 in the beginning, but I doubt it ... when the 2010's came out in Sept. of 2009 the lease programs were actually better then the Aug. 09 lease program for the MY 2009's. If BMW wants to keep selling these cars the leases are going to have to remain aggressive IMO.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback. I do think it's the HUD that pushed out the build date. The dealer was actually more upset than I on the push out to March 10 (when I added the HUD). He told me the factory approved the add of the HUD but never told him about the reschedule to March. He got the disctrict sales manager for BMW to protect my Dec. 30 deal with the holiday cash and $800 over invoice....with a March delivery. I'm hoping they can pull in the March 10 date to late Feb.....this wait is killing me! lol..
I was going to add the 7RR Performance upgrade last week but the dealer told me it could very well cause another delay as they are in final build out mode of 2010s. I agree that the 2011 MY lease programs will be similar to 2010 lease plans. Does anyone have the 7RR performance upgrade on their X6 50i? Just wondering if it's really noticeably different? Gas mileage same as base 4.4L 400 HP? THanks likecarz |

I got it and find it to be worth the money. The extra 40 hp is noticeable. i'm interested in a dinan upgrade in the future but by going with the BMW upgrade it keeps the warrenty intact on a $800000 plus vehicle. I'm hopeful for an intake exhaust solution that would add maybe 20-30 hp.
