Yea, I know the N54 can handle more, but I still see some people making high HP on the N55.
I thought they were similar in comparison when it came to mods/power increase.
Your mod list looks great, I’m not sure what my N54 would put down with all of those mods, already being at 380.

Does yours feel much faster with 400WHP?

To do even more work to my N55 and still see numbers in the same area as an N54 with hardly any mods, hmmm.

My N55 has an MHD tune on it right now. I still plan to mod it later on, but I guess I shouldn’t expect as much from it when the time comes.

Not used for racing, just want it fast.
Ok, 3 times I did try to see how I compared with other cars.
An M2 absolutely dusted me. I figured it would.
Jeep SRT8(FROM THE SAME!! E70 era) took off on me after 20ish mph
2011ish G37 with all of its 280HP is the only time I came out in front…Lol.

unfortunately, it's harder to gain HP with n55 compared to n54. n55 has twin-scroll turbo on the other side n54 has 2 turbos with a larger plugin than n55.

400whp = 500hp in the case of all wheel drive car.

stock n55 has 306hp.

So yeah difference is huge and it flies compared to stock.

I tested it with stock x5 n55 and I never see it in my rear mirror.

also, I tested it with f25 n55 tuned to 420hp and still I lost it too.

just purchased draggy waiting to test it out.

will post the results later.

also mention that with mods that I applied I easily can tune it to higher HP but I don't want to blow the engine up. as my tuner told me with that modes we can easily gain 700hp but it's at my own risk.

Yeah, a crazy night for sure, affirmative, glad you were not hurt neither in the accident nor in the chase.

Ahh, so it can go higher, just on a conservative tune.
I might stick with just the mods that get me into the safe range of power.

Why all those mods if you’re not going for the most hp?

For first enthusiasm

And I know 100% I never stop if I start tuning the cars ))

So I'm aiming next step will be:

1. https://bigboostturbo.com/products/n...6d4e&_ss=r

2. https://bigboostturbo.com/products/n...nd-pistons-set

3. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-pure-tur...re-n55-0003kt/

4. https://dorchengineering.com/product...2-hpfp-upgrade

5. https://burgertuning.com/products/n5...43139273752750

6. Going to lower car 2-3 inches.

7. Upgrade break supports and rotors.

But before do what I mentioned, I need to find someone who knows how to forge my crankshaft. Without a forged crankshaft, it's just a waste of time and money.

Or maybe one day I will wake up and decide to swap LS3 + 2 big turbochargers + drop off the X drive and install sequential gearbox + LSD.

I'm in process of making decisions now.

Ha!! I just got it done this week. After I got it back from the body repair place. From now on, it will be my first trip.

Xpel XR+ 5% back side windows, 15% on trunk window, only 25% on front sides (ugh TX law).

The ls3 sounds good.
I wonder how the xdrive system would handle more power.
The turbo you linked seems a bit small for the mod, no?
Described to “reach 500whp”
With those mods and fueling, I think you could try for more power, especially with the forged crank.
Just my thoughts, haha.

Today I replaced both the LPFP and the Siphon pump in my 2013 X5 35i.

And in the next two weeks will be replacing

The Turbo
FMIC
And lower charge pipe completing the aluminum piping from turbo all the way up and around to the throttle body, along with a much larger Intercooler.

Should be loads of fun..... SMDH

The car slammed on the brakes and anyone who wasn’t buckled and enjoying the show went flying forward, lol.

Nothing serious, but my wife wasn’t aware of the feature yet and she gave me look like “why did you do that?”
It was the car, not me.

Yeah I hate it. There has to be a solution though.

I tried it in Germany too, so called specialised gear shops...seriously guys? Got answers like: Impossible/No time/Can you source the gearbox/ Perhaps in 6 months... give me a break, one who could have helped asked for 2k more than the best specialist here in Switzerland.

Monday I will take my truck there, a new gearbox will be ordered and fitted, price tag is 3250 CHF, should additional work be required, we will be informed in due time and given a new quote.
Keep your fingers crossed guys !
Picked it up today -finally ...and what a smooth ride it was...like a brand new car
Price tag as expected, 3.231 CHF...yikes (automatic oil change included)
Discussed the issue with the seller, after bazaar-like negotiations he offered to pay 1.500 CHF...got to be kidding, right?
So I handed it over to a lawyer...and suddenly the offer went up to 2.500...now were talking.
Just wait to see the money in my account befote I believe it.

My 2011 X5 35D hit 170 today!

Not 170 mph, but 170,000 miles! A proud and also terrifying moment.

Valve cover was leaking so I had that replaced. Had new coils and plugs installed as well. By surprise, we found all the high pressure fuel line fittings were cracked so I needed to replace the rail and lines. Fun surprises….

Recently I noticed my 2012 X5 (110k miles) had low coolant levels. Every a few weeks, I had to top off coolant reservoir and also noticed some coolant deposit around the cap area. Then I realized the cap was leaking. Bought a URO brand cap and replaced it. The issue was solved and I did not have to top off coolant in the past few weeks. That was a quick and easy fix.
