Picked up a 2012 X5M recently...

Hello. Newbie here. I drove a Dinan 328iS back in the day. Loved it. I needed an SUV/SAV to haul music gear around, and I orginally planned on building an 80s Dodge Ramcharger with a modern Hemi powerplant swap. When the build sheet started hovering around $25k, I decided to start browsing the e70 X5M market.

After encountering several shady sellers and a shady dealership or two, I finally found one. I ordered Lemon Squad inspections on almosy every black X5M I could find for sale that met my initial requirements. This is the one I chose, it was delievered to me on Saturday:

Thank you! I was shopping for one for a little while. I saw prices ranging from $16999 (needed a lot of work) all the way up to over $30k. I am definitely happy with my purchase!

Very nice! congrats!
Unless its been done recently.. the first thing I would do is
replace all coils (and spark plugs if they havent been done) many engine issues are caused by bad coils so it'll give you a fresh start.

I have not done anything to it yet. I also am not driving it yet. I ordered a Dinan axle-back exhaust, but that will not arrive for a few weeks due to a backlog of orders at Dinan.

Other than that, I am going to bring it to a BMW specialist close to me. I am going to have them give the entire vehicle an inspection while also taking care of the 90k mile scheduled maintenance. After that has been completed, I will need tires. Then I will consider driving it!

sounds like a good plan. When you get tires, DO NOT get runflats... or santa will kill a puppy. Please think of the puppies!

My plan is to go with non-runflat Michelins for summers. I have not decided on winters yet.

Speaking of runflats, I know the P-Zeros suck, but has anyone had luck with Dunlops?

I had Dunlops (they came with the car when I bought it). I just put Conti DWS on, and it rides soooo much better.
