Placed an order for a Dinan axle-back exhaust with black tips for my e70 X5M. They are out of stock at the moment, but I still placed the order.

That's my next item on the list. What did that run you? I had the stock exhaust modified, but you can only hear it when you run it hard.

Dinan has it for $2199.95. I called them yedterday and the sales rep said they are not manufacturing any stock items right now. They have such a large back-order list that they are only making those items for shipping at the moment. So, the only way to get a place in line is to take a number. I decided to take a number by giving Dinan my credit card number. Now I am waiting in line...

Looking good sunny_j, I will admit that when I bought mine I was a bit ignorant on what options there were for the interiors, aside from that only the perforated merino was available for the cooled seat option. Once I saw an X5 without the leather dash, I was super happy that mine is optioned out the way that it was. Originally I did want the cf trim, for the look, but I have grown to like the gloss of the piano black.

Oil change, trans fluid change kit, new bridge gasket, as well as the 4 sleeves, and new orings on the connector plug sleeve (since I ended up breaking the new sleeve).

Not too bad of process, just take your time and have a helper. The fill procedure is pretty ridiculous... I was worried I didn't have enough fluid with 7 liters but just I was finishing up my last bottle, like literally almost out, I got my steady stream out the drain plug. I used a thermal gun on the bottom of the pan to make sure I was at the right temp for filling, which was 40C. Overall though not bad! Results are a buttery smooth transmission.

Had my car towed from VA Beach to NJ today.

Just got back from being underway for the past 3 weeks so the car was sitting at the pier. Came back Friday afternoon, it started right up and everything was normal. Drove 20 min to top off the tank and when I went to turn the car back on, the electronics turn on but the engine doesn’t even try to crank. Bunch of malfunction messages pop up on the idrive screen. Had it towed to the dealer which was luckily down the street. They looked at it on Saturday and couldn’t figure it out and needed more time. Apparently the communication with the DME is out of whack and there’s either a bad ground, frayed connection somewhere or possible the DME is failing. Had it towed up to NJ today to let my shop look at it. This should be fun.

Oh and whoever at BMW that decided not to have an accessible neutral override inside the car needs to be fired. I wasn’t able to get the car out of park. You need to remove a panel under the car and then tighten a bolt to force the transmission into neutral. Something that really can’t be done roadside. The 1st tow truck was a flat bed but he didn’t have the tools to remove the panel so he had to leave. Had to wait for another driver to come and bring rollers to put the car on.

Sorry to hear that man. Hope its nothing serious

Isn't there a part under the cup holder that can be turned to put the car in neutral?

Damn Ryan, sucks to hear that. Hopefully its minor issue. Maybe those pesky ground straps that can cause issues?
