BMW code: 00A6D1

According to Carly - this code points to passenger-side junction box Additional Water Pump. If I understand correctly, is this the HVAC heater core pump that keeps bringing errors? I have no idea what the part actually looks like.... help!

TIA

How easy is this to change out? Are you sure this is for the E71 X6M?

It is not that difficult to replace the auxiliary water pump on the E71. It is located almost on the same spot on the M as in the diagram that I posted for the 5.0. The part number is different for M model. This is the part number for the M.

Auxiliary water pump

And the link to RealOEM.com - https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_4390

Well, not that easy!! In mine, I had to remove the intercooler expansion tank. It is right below the small coolant tank. You may have to disconnect some to the intercooler hoses and move the tank to one side. I am not familiar with the location of the intercooler expansion tank on the M model but, the auxiliary water pump is right in front of the engine.

Pump Replaced.... but Error Persists

Is there a fuse or relay that controls this pump? Why does the Owner's Manual not have a listing of all the fusible links????

The link that I posted before have all the information you need to work on your vehicle. Here is the specific information you were looking for:
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...oling/AGJ5HfdK

You will notice that it will depends on when your vehicle was manufacture. Here is a picture of what you are looking for in the link above.

My manufacture date is 11/2009. But, where is the damn fuse box located? I looked under the glovebox junction block and saw nothing but a few big harness connections. I simply wanna see if I blew any fuses....

There are under the cabin filter. Not to difficult to get to them. The harder part to take off is the junction box cover. It has 3 metal clips and plastic male portion holding it.

I saw a fuse panel under the glovebox too. It's held down by a single green Philips screw and fold down.

I was searching around to see what else could it be and found out that the X6M has two auxiliary pumps. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=17_0511

This one connect to the passenger side junction box. You may have to do some testing and see which one the two is not working.

I'm beginning to think this may be a Carly error, as I hear the "something" still running, after engine shutdown. Or, is that the radiator fan? Can somebody confirm?
