Bought the top oil feed hose for the 35d that seems to be a common repair. Didn't notice it was seeping oil until I took off the engine acoustic covers to clean the TB. Should be going to my indy this week. Other than that an oil change.

Replaced the glow plug module in my wife's 2011 X5 35D. After watching a few videos from people with 335Ds I thought it would be a fairly quick/easy job... Not so much on the X5! Took me about 3 hours and ended up with some bloody forearms. There was a moment I thought there was no way without removing the intake manifold but after getting it in the air I was able to get my hands in enough to get it out without damaging the plugs or anything around it.

I also detailed it in and out as I listed the X5 for sale. See sale thread here: https://www.xbimmers.com/forums/show....php?t=1688049

I'm only selling because it's not getting driven as we got an i3 and my wife hasn't driven the 35D since.

Today I finally did the XHP Trans download with Rod Sutphin's tune. Havent even taken it out yet for a spin, but looking forward to it. Rod was super helpful and helped make the process super easy. Should pair nicely with xDelete, which I already have.

Tuesday the E70's going to the shop for the top oil feed line replacement.

Why don't you replace the J line yourself? It's very easy!

Took my time and did the oil feed line. My buddy who also has a 35d and did this like a month ago helped me with some tips and a torque wrench. Sunny J, your vid along with Newtis were my go to references. Not as bad as I initially thought and could easily do this again.

Nothing.. that's what I've done. Just didnt have the motivation yesterday.
I need to wire in my dash cam- I've had the dang thing sitting in a plastic bag for over a year now, since I bought my X5. I've stupidly driven over 46k miles without it because I just havent gotten around to installing it...
On the plus side, I have tomorrow off, have an interview for a new job, and then I think I'll install it. I also took this friday off, and have a buddy coming to hang out for friday and saturday and help me get a laundry list of stuff done with the X5. Going to finish install on all 3 lightbars, remove the front DEF tank, and probably replace the red boost pipe. Will swap my sht PDC sensor, and I'm hoping to get aroudn to checking the trans fluid at temp again too.

I should wire in the wired brake controller, too.

Maybe I missed the post but which light bars did you go with?

Diode dynamics. I had been meaning to hit buy for nearly a year, and then I rationalized it finally as a birthday present to myself. I went for the 12" up front and the 2 6" for the rear. Seeing how Evan and a few others did it, I kind of wish I went for the 18" up front. If I'm not happy with the light, or just want more, I might upgrade to the 18". While my front bumper is off, I might take some measurments and see if the pods they have would be possible to make look good in my pre-lci fog light position. It would be cool to have those output a ton of light with their SAE rated pro style fog layout.

Replaced passenger side exterior door handle. Comfort access was not working on that door for at least a year, so found a used one in the correct color on eBay for $35 shipped. 10 minute install and it is working perfectly, love easy fixes like this!

Don't get me wrong, it looks great- but I use mine SO much to be able to see out the rear. Does yours not get dirty?! When I bought the car, mien was broken off and it was super annoying having the rear so filthy.

I guess for those that use it then it wouldnt make sense, but I never use mine, I really dont like when you use it and the rest of the rear is dirty but the area that was wiped, I keep it fairly clean so wasnt a big deal to me!

Makes total sense. At the end of the day, I kind of just drive too much to keep it super clean. Most weeks I drive 450-550 miles, not counting random hundreds of miles on the weekends every now and then. Ever since I coated the glass, it's way better though! Rain just takes the filth off when it falls directly on the window.

Not for the X5, but a job for all my cars today.
One of my Quickjack rails was stuck in elevated position. Loss of air pressure in chamber responsible for lowering the rail. Was a PITA as can’t fill to 50psi until rail is completely descended. This involved releasing pressurized fluid etc...
All good in the end.

That's why I bought mine at the bottom of the depreciation curve, and then dump money into all the maint it needs. In my experience, a high mileage car that's taken care of will last- hence the 251k miles on mine, going up all the time.

That looks good, really clean looking..BUT I use mine all the time. I wish the rear was designed to not get dirty haha.. I drove my buddy's X6 this weekend and went thru rain and snow and it did NOT stay dirty at all. And while driving it wasnt getting dirty as if the water just passed over the rear glass. Nice job though!
