Drive it with reduced power, its fine. Those are all emissions related codes. I suspect you have a bad EGR valve coaked up. Also looks like you your SCR tank is at the end of its life possibly.

Not unusual for an EGR valve failure. Its right on the end of your intake mainifold.

Cheap fix tune it, with a stage II JR tune with EGR/SCR delete. Costs about $1100

Thanks for the reply. Can't do the delete as live in an emissions state.
I know its fine to drive with reduced power but couldn't get above 30-40mph and would slow down even more up a hill. Not feasible to drive on the freeway for 200 miles!

Read somewhere that someone with similar symptoms was able to get some power by pulling the MAF sensor. I tried this and it worked - gave me power and was able to drive with no issues (other than the dashboard warning) for about 100 miles then all of a sudden started hearing a loud noise that sounded like an exhaust leak. Not sure if this was related or unrelated and due to the DEF injector I changed last night (to try and remove a 'pending' code that keeps coming and going) coming loose.

Additionally, when I pulled over after the scary noise, I saw (didn't notice originally) that the hose post-MAF but before the turbo came unhooked at the hose clamp (replaced this a few weeks ago when I did the EGR cooler). Would make sense the original issue if unregulated air was getting into the turbo after the MAF … but tightened up the hose clamp, put it all back together, plugged the MAF back in and still no power. Then tried disconnecting the MAF again and the power didn't come back...

At this point I resigned myself to a 100 mile tow and will have to assess my options tomorrow...

Had the truck towed 110 miles to dealership by my house as needed to get home and mostly covered by AAA.

Turns out issue is a broken EGR cooler flange bolt (where it connects to the turbo/exhaust). I replaced the EGR cooler a couple months back and torqued to spec so expect I should have replaced to bolts as well!

BMW is quoting 7 hours labor for the job (remove EGR cooler/remove broken bolt/ replace EGR cooler with new bolts). Interested if anyone knows the BMW book rate for this job?

I know when I replaced the EGR cooler it took me close to that but I had never done the job before and spent a google hour trying to figure out how to get a couple weird electrical connectors unhooked without breaking them...
