Lowered suspension shock choices

I already own a set of H&R 2" drop springs, they are uninstalled. I'm getting to the point where I'd like to get them out in. Problem is I'm not seeing many choices for shocks/struts out there.
With a e36/46 it's easy, bilstein sport/koni yellows and you're done. All I see are bilstein B8s and they are out of stock in the country with a December eta. I tried searching for konis and came up with a red strut but it doesn't specify for lowered cars. I don't want to go through struts every 6 months because the car is lower than the OEM strut can take so I figured while I'm in there I'd upgrade and do it right.
Any suggestions (besides KW/Megan coils )?

First, would you want to sell the H&Rs? Second I think KW are the best ones out there for our cars. I know BC made a kit, but some folks mentioned they were trash.

The only person I remember going aftermarket shocks used the bilstein b8 sport shocks. He seemed to like them. Maybe he will chime in, I don’t remember his name

Edit:looks like the kit is in stock at ECS

No I really want to use them. My point was to NOT use coil overs 😂

That links to the B4s, basically factory replacement. I would want/need the B8s with the bigger piston.

Ah good catch

Or you could get this and sell your current springs

What if your E70 equipped with adaptive drive shocks? Will it work? Or you just bypass it, i assumed you dont connect the 2 wires, sensor?

Im asking because the OEM adaptive drive shock cost about $860 a piece.

I saw your post and remembered that I have a email dialog going with bimmerworld so I messaged them again and they said they don't predict anything for at least 6 months!?
I have this crappy feeling I'm just going to end up buying the entry level struts and rolling the dice on their lifespan.

Oh man that sucks. I assumed since you could add them to the shopping cart they were in stock. If you are gonna drop 2", i would wait and get the a shock meant for lowering springs. Not only will you reduce the lifespan with the regular version, at 2" you might not have a lot of suspension travel and be slamming into the bump stops all the time.

Make sure to give feedback on your setup once you install it. Seems like a lot of people never report back so no one really knows how these different setups feel.

I have H&R 2” with B8’s on the front of my 35d. I have stock shocks in the rear with the adjusted air suspension.

Ride is very nice.

If you don't have adaptive drive you could use the the sport shocks. found on the m package, it is the shortest shock available for the x5 parts numbers below. The B8's might work for the front, I tried the rear b8's and they couldn't preload the rear h&r springs. The b8's part# 24-143974 & 24-143981 were 1 1/2'' longer than stock. bilstein USA costumer service was horrible ,they couldn't provide any info or shock length. The only response through them was that maybe the shock was miss labeled and to go through dealer for refunding.

Oem sport suspension
Fronts # 31316781920
rear left# 33526781927
Rear right# 33526781928

Has anybody tried replacing the rear shock upper mounts to accommodate the B8 or Koni FSD's? There are two part numbers for the rear upper shock mount: one tall, one short. I think the air spring suspension uses the taller mount and shock. I am thinking the shorter upper shock mount might accommodate aftermarket shocks.

Also, what bump stops are people using with the B12 kit?

Scroll down in this post, see if that answers your question. There are earlier discussions in the same thread as well, its long, but lots of great info, photos and write-ups in there..
