Thinking of selling X6?? Don't!

Hi all I'm back to X6 forum. Bought a new X6 last March, deep sea blue with 20" inch Y spoke, beautiful car. Sold it in July for a Porsche 911 GT3, hated it! Have had a Mercedes and a 335d Coupe since then and have now gone back to the X6.

The new one arrives this March, same spec as before and I think I'm more excited this time around than last. Also ordered a new P Tronic tuning unit for it, had one last time and it was awesome

Does anyone know if the I Drive is updated in 2010 X6 as this was the only flaw last time around?

Thanks

Idrive is new. Mine is on order, so I haven't used it. However, most feel that the new Idrive is a substantial upgrade from 2009 model. What is P tronic tuning?

See P tronic website

http://www.ptronic.com/

This ups bhp on 35d from 286 to 367hp. They say fuel economy also increases but I never experienced any increase. Did notice lots of extra power though!

Welcome back!
What did u feel was missing in the previous x6 to make u sell it ?
What's missing from the other cars that bring u back ?
Which engine & what options this time?

I loved the X6 but spotted the Porsche one day and thought I wanted it! Traded in the X6 and immediately regretted it.

The other cars are missing the driving position and road presence of the X6, also the comfort.

I've gone for a Deep Sea Blue 35d with dynamic pack and 20" rims. Media package, HUD, running boards, roof rails, heating pack (steering wheel and seats).

Yes. I have heard that the 40d will only be released in Geneva in March. I think it will be June/July before its available in the UK and I've ordered for March delivery. I like the sound of the 8 speed auto but apart from that the bhp is only a slight increase, torque slightly more. The P tronic box sorts out the differences. I imagine I'll take a hit on residual though when the 40d is available

I loved the look and the drive was fantastic but only when you were really in the mood for driving hard. I hated the interior, I think Porsche interior is so dated now.

The difference is much more my friends:

1. Torque starts much lower in the revs. just above idle and is almost immediately at max torque all the way to 4500rpm
2. The engine is the 3rd generation common rail so it is also much more quiet and 10% more fuel efficient.
3. also some nice new options like Active cruise control with stop AND START
4. and finally, when u chip it, you will be getting close to 400hp.

just google it. the info is all over now.

Finally, you can order it in the UK at the end of Feb, for delivery in April.

I enjoyed porsche for about a year, but I traded more for comfort. BMW is the ultimate driving machine, porsche more for a complete hard core driving experience.
