Best Tire Deals? 20"

Where/when does everybody buy their tires? It seems like there aren't too many options for the 20" wheels (I have msport wheels). Is discount tire the best way to go for non RFT? Seems like that might be the best deal if you are able to stack their credit card discount (5% or 10%) with a manufacturer rebate. Figured on getting Conti DWS06 since they've been good on my cars.

FRONT:
275 /40 R20
REAR:
315 /35 R20

I purchase my tires from tirerack and get them shipped to a local installer. I'm also very happy with my Conti DWS. They are about 280 for the rears and 220 for the fronts which aren't bad at all.

I run the same size as you:

Looks like they have quite a selection but the Conti DWS are the same as tire rack.

I did not realize that they offer a 4 tire set for the 275/315 that would be less than 500, crazy. Anyone heard of Lexani or Cosmo brands?

I wouldn't cheap out on tires, especially this big. I've seen Toyo Tires in 275/315 but they are terrible. Not to mention, you can find a set of barely used Conti DWS for $500-700

On my 13' X5M, I just changed out the RFLT's and went with Nitto Motivo's all the way around. The ride is amazing and much smoother and not all the harshness the run flats give you. I got them from Discount Tire for $1,100 all the way around including full tire protection on each. I also got a 10% rebate for a sale they were having an that brought it right down to $1K. I'm very happy with the tires as they are quite, smooth and corner as well as accelerate very very well with good grip. FYI - I stayed away from the Conti DSW's as I read a lot of reviews about excessive noise and not very good traction in rain. Here in Houston, that's a no go.

I'd like to hear more about the Motivos if anyone else has tried them... How many miles do you have on them? Some people in reviews said they wear out fast, but it seems like that's a problem in general with our cars... Currently can get $130 off a set of Motivos through Discount tire, which comes to a little over $700 before tax.

Honestly, I don't have many miles on them yet as I just got them back in March and barely driven over 300-400 miles since due to all this crap. I'm very versed in the tire model as I've had a couple of sets of Motivo's on my previous BMW (04' E46 ZHP) and absolutely loved them. They seemed to get the same about of wear as most other brands on our staggered setups where we can't rotate to help with wear. Also, I had my X5M aligned right after I got them to make sure everything is tracking straight and I'm glad I did as it was pretty far out. Remember, the front camber on our car's is non-adjustable and the fronts are going to wear faster (any brand of tire) than the rears. If I'm not mistaken these tires are also asymmetrical and therefore can be rotated from side/side (front/front and rear/rear), so that should help lengthen their life a bit. For that price, I'd go for it as they are a really good tire and the only down fall is if you have RFT's now you'll have to add a spare or add a can of fix-a-flat (what I did) for just in-case. Lastly, the first thing you'll notice is your road noise will decrease by 50+%!!!

I might give these a try next time actually. How are you getting the 130 discount? I don't see it on their site.

How many miles can you typically get out of them? the Conti Dws wear out pretty quickly for me.

I have done about 6 k miles only. Still more then 2/3 rd tread left.

I drive conservatively.

I also do not wait till the tires get bald. I change with around a third of tread left.

X5 50i is a heavy beast. It eats tires more then your usual sedans

My x5m came on a set of pretty new Motivos. They lasted me over 30k miles, including a weekend on track (sebring). Always drove well enough and didn't make too much noise. I was impressed.

I got the motivos at thanksgiving when they were doing the 15% rebate using the discount tire card for 885 installed (price matched amazon) minus the rebate cards that came a couple weeks later. So far have about 10k on them and they drive much better and seem to be wearing well

The Motivo's are nice and quiet, with a softer ride. Over the DWS06. The DWS06 was a firmer ride, perhaps a bit more road noise.

The DWS06 in snow, minus hills, were superb. The Motivo's I don't recall at this point.

Both were bought at Discount Tire, while there was a rebate or sale.
