Yea, what are they doing?
BMW has been 5x120 for as long as I can remember! I would have adjusted the offsets and put my ADVs on the M40i if they would have been the proper 5x120 hub! ![]() |

Back in e70 X5M:
47k mile, One owner since new (89yo who never set up M-mode) X5M in Monte Carlo Blue over Silverstone... He ordered new from Hendrick BMW, picked it up at the plant in SC... after that it never left North Carolina! all service records, all recalls, all service bulletins completed. Near perfect condition, clean Carfax. I couldn't not buy it! Hendrick BMW also completed $9k worth of service before allowing me to take delivery. All the techs wanted it, but it was too late; I had already sealed the deal before anyone in the service department knew anything about it! Here it is with my 2020 X5M in Tanzanite over Navy/Oyster.... |

I was expecting someone to have dug up this 5 year old thread with a random question for OP but I'm happy to see that the OG OP is back at it. Your X5M was aesthetically one of my favorites as I got into my E70 X5D, so thanks for the inspiration.
As far as wheels go I definitely gravitate towards the period correct BBSs in a darker finish. IMO the E70 has some chunky/brutish exterior styling so delicate looking multi spoke wheels like the ones from your G05 look a little out of place. Evan

I vote the split 5 spoke. Gorgeous. One day….
But can’t argue against BBS either.

I've owned F85 and currently an F95. I have enjoyed both successors, but neither of them received the amount of mods that My e70 got... I still look at every e70 I see going down the road... I like the body lines and the X5Ms seem to look even more beefy because they got specific bumpers, fenders, headlights... in essence, BMW did a better job to differentiate the X5M from all other X5s. Because of it's impeccable condition and history, the plan is to keep this one close to original (EAG style). But don't worry, I also bought it's twin to mod and drive... |

I have come to the conclusion that I don't need two 2011 Monte Carlo over Silverstone X5Ms, so I have decided to part with one of them and keep the other one. If anyone is interested or knows someone who might be interested in one or the other... Both are Monte Carlo Blue over Silverstone full leather, heated & cooled seats, etc,... both in great condition.
The one my wife is currently daily driving has 97k miles....she absolutely loves it and says its her favorite one by far. (Its going to be a challenge to pry it from her hands..LOL!). This one was her pick over the 2020 X5M, because of the overall beefy and distinctive appearance of the e70 X5M, the smaller size that she can maneuver easier, fits better in our garage and the tech with "top view" is surprisingly good for its age. This one also has extended leather, rare heated and COOLED seats, rear heated seats and heated steering wheel. I would ask $23k for it with factory wheels or $26k with the 22" HRE style P104SC forged reproductions. The other one is a 47k original mile, all original, one-owner, southern owned and near perfect example that I had intended to put away and preserve (EAG style)... I would want $38k for this one. lf anyone is interested in either one of them, let me know! Will post in classifieds soon. Last edited by gixxerboy63; 11-27-2024 at 09:05 AM.. |

Xtron? I haven't heard about that one... Is it a better solution over the Avin unit? I had Avin on my first X5M and from what I remember, it was pretty good.

Its pretty good on the E46 M3 platform so I was just going by that. If i was to do an update i would probably go for an Xtrons or even a Carplay standalone unit.
