Disc & Pad Advice for 2013 BMW X6M
Hi Guys,
I'm a Brit but currently living in Poland and this is my first post here from me so thanks in advance for any generous replies to my question. I am about to replace all discs and pads on my 2013 E71 X6M. I've had the car a couple of years and I have to say I've been less than impressed by the genuine discs and pads on the car, they squeak constantly..more so in reverse but it is bloody annoying. I was thinking of replacing them with non genuine (aftermarket) products. I noticed that the original discs are listed as "lightweight" by BMW but when visually compared with an aftermarket drilled and grooved set they just don't look up to much at all.. they aren't drilled and grooved.. they just look plain and very standard. Im not an expert or that mechanical as you can probably tell. To me the aftermarket discs and pads look better and cost less?!? My mates M5 on 2012 has epic discs on it as standard, drilled and grooved..and on some kimd of spring system so why are mine like 2 lumps of steel?? I've been told (by another mate but he's an Audi man) not to mess around just stick original Beemer discs and pads back on it.. but what are people's thoughts on here? I would be very interested to hear from anyone who owns the same car and has replaced discs and pads with aftermarket ones. Any links or advice to aftermarket sets would be greatly welcome.. so far I've scanned eBay and lijd the look of a brand called Rottinger and there is a "Brembo" set on there but I have not really done much else. Thanks C Coleman Vast BMW History Current Car: 2103 E71 BMW X6M |

You have FEW options unfortunately. Aftermarket parts.... adamsrotors.com is the ONLY place I found but $$$$
second option is to order rotors for a 2015 or later f85/86 X6M. These are the same size, but are drilled in a slotted pattern, and are a "2 piece design" but not really two piece. They fit perfect but on the front you can only use one set screw, and in the rear you have to use the lugs to hold in place but this is not an issue at all. These can be bought for about 249-300$ each form online sources. Third option... go to a carbon ceramic setup for 15000$ as for pads...you need to use pads for I believe for 2010-2013 e71. lots of options between ceramic and low dust vs more "bite" and there are several threads and discussions on here about that. |

Scaley......I have the same vehicle and at 90,000 km replaced the pads for the first time....the front rotors as far as BMW are concerned, should be probably be replaced (not happening)... but I’m not bothering... I don’t track the vehicle and the new BOSCH pads bedded in perfectly....I did not have the rotors turned.
Our brakes are very easy to work on, I have stripped and cleaned and serviced twice - never had a problem with brake squealing. In the UK/Europe you have quite a few rotor options available.... that are not easy to get in North America...As for EBC/ USR options...forget it... they have not made any for two years - and the company just spin bullshit when asked. If your rotors are not badly worn... change up the pads... and clean everything if not already done... The X6M is one of the easiest vehicles I have owned to do basic maintenance on... and enjoy doing it.. Yours aye.... to follow up we replaced the rotors with 2018 f86(x6m) rotors and they fit perfect with the exception of the set screws, but these don't matter as the lugs hold them plenty tight. We used EBS yellow stuff pads and this thing stops on a dime. Great bite and feel, no fade, just a little squeak till the pads seat.

This site https://srotas24.co.uk/ delivers to Poland, in addition, I advised that it is better to take original used discs than non-original ones
