2010 Space Gray X5M
I figure I might as well start a thread for my car, since I'll be doing a few mods to it...
I've had two 4.8 X5's before, a 2007 and a 2008. This car is night and day compared to those ones. Handling is much better and the acceleration reminds me of one of my sports cars. According to the build numbers thread, this car is one of 13 E70 X5M's made in Space Gray with Full Merino leather. I also noticed that this X5M doesn't have a roof rack. Pretty much every other X5 I've seen has one installed. Was it an option not to have one? I picked it up in the beginning of September and so far have had the front windows tinted 35% to match the rest, installed some Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires, coded the typical stuff with NCS, updated the navigation to 2016 version and installed a Meisterschaft GTS muffler. Here are a couple pics of how the car sits now. In the near future I have the following mods coming: 1. AA downpipes - ceramic coated 2. LCI Tail lights 3. IND black front grill and turn signals. Going to color match the orange side markers as well 4. Tune... most likely gonna go with AA 5. LED headlights 6. I may install some lowering springs... still deciding 7. Anything I'm missing? |

I have a feeling I've seen that X5M also with that licence plate around Richmond as I always pay more attention to other space grey X5s and also recall looking at the licence plate and saying "828, must be Chinese" as I also have an 8 on my plate for a lucky number.

looks good buddy, I was just in Van for the last month, if you have seen a MCB X5M with gold rims
I say lowering will defiantly give a better look, also I find it a lot easier to get in and out of as I don't like to over stress the seat bolsters when getting in and out. Also if you are lowering and wanting to keep the 299M, get some spacers, 15/25mm works perfectly. As for the roofrack, they do exist for the X5M, they sit flush with the roof instead of protruding out, it is possible to install them if you really want, but I recall drilling and etc is require Btw, nice house |

Welcome fellow Space Grayer!
Nice projected mod list. The additional things I might suggest would be 22" wheels, Carbon Diffuser (I see that you already have the extended tailpipes) and a Carbon front bumper. Here's my build thread as an example of where I have taken mine and things I have considered; http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1091089 Meanwhile, good luck! You're off to a great start! |

How does your X5M feel with the new downpipes?
(you already had an AA tune prior to them, correct?) |

http://ind-distribution.com/ind/bran...d-side-markers They cost $250 and you can get them black or color matched to your car. I went with black... No tune yet, waiting for the cable to show up. The car doesn't feel much different, maybe a bit less turbo lag? I'm sure the tune will make a huge difference, it should be tuned next week. The sound is much different though. You can clearly hear the turbos spool and its very LOUD under WOT... I'll post the cold start video once it's done uploading |
