Congrats! Hopefully the inspection comes back clean.

Hope the bumper just needs to be realigned and not replaced. If you need a replacement, PM me. I’m friends with a service manager at a BMW dealer and he can get crazy prices on this stuff.

With the fenders, thats just part of the story with the wider wheels. Get thru the winter and then in the spring, repaint them and have paint protection film put on and you should be good to go. I’m having the same problem with mine and I don’t have any gravel roads.

I hope so too!

That's a good point. I'll probably drive it thru winter and then get it touched up and detailed in spring. I can tell this carbon black needs a detail from the photos they sent me.

I love your build - especially the color. I told myself I would do any performance modifications to this because I have a 700HP 135i, but who knows. Having to remove the ECU for a benchflash helps prevent me from doing that.

My plans are front window tint, paint-matched reflectors, smoked fender light, debadge, black grilles and black roof rails. Next summer I might get some 22" wheels and lower it.

Turns out it's the owner of the dealership's best friend's wife's car... if you can wrap your head around that. The owner put the car on his lot to help his friend sell it. He's a rich farmer who had it serviced at BMW for everything. Single owner, no accidents, maintenance records, both key fobs, etc.

Got them down on the price a little because the rear bumper had the same wavy problem that I was talking about above. Hopefully I can fix that. It also has pretty bad pitting on the rear fender flares, I think the farmer lives on a dirt road (hence engine bay dirt).

I'm trying something new and purchased an inspection service from LemonSquad so I don't waste time/money like I did when trying to buy the white one in New York. If it checks out, I'll probably have my friend transport it home for $900 in an enclosed trailer.

I'm excited! After running the VIN, I see it has soft-close doors as well. It also has my favorite interior color combo (black w/ aluminum). I was really hoping I'd find an alpine white X5, but I think this carbon black will grow on me.

Anything else I should know or check for? Thanks jiggz!
Great news! I must have keyed the year wrong, 2013 even better as you get the heated steering wheel.

Sounds like a nice example being 1 owner, no accidents, etc. I hope the inspection pans out.

The pitting is normal on the M Sports - wide front wheels + no running boards + flared rear wheel arches = paint damage over time. Mine was the worst I've seen, huge sections of paint flaking off when I'd wash it. Just in the past 2 weeks I had it all stripped, resprayed, and then PFF applied. Looks like new!

The aluminum trim is actually not too common on these vehicles - most have one of the many wood trim options.

I've done the water pump on my 135i a few times now, so I'm not too worried about that. Hopefully the LemonSquad inspector will report on any low speed shuttering if it's present.

Other things I've noticed... there hasn't been a lot of service history. Front brake pads and rotors were replaced ~10k miles ago. Oil changes were done every 20k miles. Not the best interval, but I think it will be okay.
Another member here just bought a 2013 Carbon Black M Sport 35i, dealer serviced, and same story, not a lot of maintenance history. I think these cars are just really reliable. My 50i has an extensive maintenance history, but it's all engine related - not much else has failed.

She's on her way home... I should have her tonight! Probably the closest she'll ever get to a Lamborghini Huracan too

$18,500 for the car after negotiation
$1,100 for taxes & registration
$1,000 for transportation
$200 for the inspection report

$20,800 said and done, well under budget

I'll be sure to start a separate build thread once she's dropped off and the modding begins!

Having many 135i and 335i in my day, I'm familiar and comfortable working on the 35i motor. Just personal preference!
