I haven't put the new rails on yet. Just cleaning all the gunk that was under the stock rails and all the plastic trim pieces I removed from inside. Removing the B pillars was the biggest PITA

Lol, I paid someone to do it... that takes a soft touch and patience. I would go hulk and break something.

Enjoy China brother! Really want to make it over that way and to Japan one day.

Nice, China is great! I spent 2 years in Taiwan as well. I loved it. Have some fun while you're there and enjoy the food! Don't be afraid to try everything...

Thanks man! I'm really happy with the look. Too bad BMW didn't give us many options when it came to diesels compared to the gassers. This is how it looked stock when I bought her in 2012

Saturday I got my car deleted and tuned DUDMD (400 miles round trip), and Sunday I picked up my new trailer! The trailer was 410ish miles away, and the X5 went down to virginia at a good clip, getting 28.2 mpg calculated at 74-80 mph most of the time. I was hoping for more, but oh well! It's way faster now. Got 24 mpg indicated on the way home, but I'm not sure how accurate the mpg gauge is after the tune. I suspect I'll have to go into the hidden menu and adjust it a bit, but I'm going to keep track of all the actual vs indicated, average out the error, and then fix it after 5 or so tanks of fuel. Super happy about my trailer pickup, this means I can tow my drift car to events instead of driving it there!

Also noteworthy: I really have to get around to doing the glow plugs and controller- my engine light is still on for them I also had a red brake indicator, which upon inspection, is because the stupid sensor fell out of the rear brake pad! I'll have to pop the wheel off after work today and hope that the sensor is still intact, and can be popped back in.

So today I deleted one of my vacuum canisters, I've done a bunch of research and these seem to be used as a failsafe in the event there is not enough vacuum to run things. I'm already not using the exhaust flappers, so I'm in excess anyway. It's basically for areas that see altitude and pressure changes often, and 2 is more than overkill, there are a bunch of folks that delete them altogether. I just T'd the driver side out as it just has all of that mess run over the engine. I'm trying to slowly declutter my engine bay and make it something nice to look at instead of a mess. Also make it easier to work on and get to things.

Still have to cut the excess hose and mount the passenger side canister somewhere out of the way. I'm thinking in the space behind the partition. Then I'll be able to delete the o2 sensor bridge. I have some plans for how to route that wiring as well.

Is the only benefit to removing this aesthetics?

I would say yes, but I could argue it removes a point of failure as I went into limp mode when one of these lines came off. That and making it easier to work on...

Changed the oil today. Put in Castrol LL-01 5W-30. The old oil was just filthy. I don’t understand it, as I literally put < 4K miles on it in the past year. Anyway, all done and fresh.

Hey guys! Dmitry is in Oregon (or is it Washington?) But Highline Motorsports llc in Ballston lake, just north of Albany, has a working relationship with them. Great guys, did my X5's deletes, including hardware, for $2040 all said and done, including labor, parts, and the Vband that broke coming off. Apparently a $40 vband, so he asked for the $40 above the $2000 that he had told me for the price. Not an issue at all. Deleted, DPF, SCR, and the whole EGR system. I didn't do swirl flaps, mine are fine, and if they ever start leaking I'll block them off. DUDMD Stage 2, the reason the labor+ drive from northern NJ was worth it was becasue a) I didnt curse under my X5 for 3 days straight trying to get the DPF out myself and b) same day turnaround, I didn't have to send my DME anywhere- They flashed it on site.

Thanks! There's a user on Xoutpost who's pulled 9k lbs of camper with a load leveller, and a beefed up hitch assembly, something like 28k miles in the past few years. I got my Prodigy RF brake controller synced up, and it works like a charm! I'll be pulling my e46 drift car, so I'll be butting up close to the 6000lbs tow limit for the US X5's. I figure if I go a hair over it, as long as I keep the hitch weight right at the max 600 lbs, it'll be fine. the trailer brakes work super well, so I'm not too worried. I'll probably be riding close to 5500lbs behind the car most times I tow.

Adding dual Boost Gauges so I can see what each Turbo is doing in real time, 3d Printed the gauge pod from Thingiverse, came out really nice using PLA Carbon at .1mm res on a QIDI 3D Printer. This will really come in handy when I finally hook up the JB4 as start to tune the turbos. I want to get each turbo in sync as close as possible hardware-wise before tweaking the boost differential with the software
