Finally picked up my X5M

So I purchased my X5M FEB 8th from a seller in San Diego. It is a 2011 with 66,000 miles and an extensive repair history at BMW San Diego. Transmission was replaced at 49,000 miles. Crankcase vent pipes, connecting line, and the turbocharges were replaced right before I bought it. Thrust rod bearing, turbo coolant lines, index 12 injectors, auxiliary water pumps, drive shafts, and airbags were replaced as well within the past year. Engine oil maintenance was religiously done every 3K miles and B&B Autohaus in SD did the PPI and gave it a thumbs up. I left it in SOCAL as I went on an overseas trip. Finally flew down Friday to Eastvale, CA and just got back today driving it up to WA for 1,200 miles. Car ran flawless and my driving experience bringing it back really validated buying an X5M! The driving experience is definitely worth it!

Congrats. I know that feeling of "having made the right decision" every time you get behind the wheel.

Hopefully we prove to be welcoming and helpful.

Congrats as I recently picked up a 2012 X5M myself too. Glad everything has been taking care of, wonder if it came with an extended warranty and what kind?

Please post some pictures at your earliest convenience

Congratulations! I know the vehicle you purchased and it's a very nice X5M! I spoke with Dave a few times and almost flew down to test drive it. Enjoy it!

The previous owner had an extended warranty that took care of everything mentioned, except for the recalls.

I did get one too from Red Shield for 5 years, 60K miles, exclusionary warranty, for a total of $4,700 including tax.

No. I believe it was Assurant. Previous owner also told me they stopped covering the X5M. Not a surprise considering they spent over 20K on repairs on the car before I got it.

Congrats -

I was just quoted for Assurant via dealer today - humm

Pick up my '11 M tomorrow - only 39k on the clock. Driveshaft 7/17, Airbag (R) 12/18 and spark plugs, new tires, oil change 4/19.

Waiting to hear the thickness of the disc brakes - Carfax doesn't show any replacements.

Good buy. Only 39k miles is nice. Why worry about brakes .They are cheap to replace .

First mod should be a " Sprint Booster" before considering a tune.
